But seriously, yes, huge pickup over the past week or so.
I’ve genuinely had 3 calls today from agencies begging me to work either today, tonight or tomorrow.
'tis crazy I tell you, wasn’t even this bad at Christmas!

Its picking up for sure, but, its a bit messy with start times and cancellations up here, i`ve had plenty of enquiries today for this weekend and next week, but nothing like 110 hours g/teed over the next 2 weeks
Grab it, before they change their minds 
tis half term and everyone got to get thier last days holidays in before the end of march and new holidays start 
…I should add that I’ve been sitting on my hands this last month. This week I thought was about half-term cover, but now they’ve offered me the same again at a different depot next week, I’m thinking a pickup in work maybe at hand - I hope for all our sakes its not just around these parts (North Kent). 
I’ve grabbed it with both hands alright!

Had them onto me the other day to see if I could cover a shift but was working at my real job so couldn’t. They said should have some work for me on the bins next week.

Its gone mad. i signed up with a couple of other agencies as the one i was using pre-xmas was quiet, this week ive been offered work from all 3. If I could legally do it (and physically) and not die (i’m thinking of the children here) I could get 108 hours in a week. Driver Hire today offered me a nice run from Billingshurst to Swindon, then to Bristol then back to Billingshurst for tomorrow which Ive taken, then called me an hour later to see if i could do a night shift tonight which I considered but decided not to because I was working today, plus I would have lost the run tomorrow. Ive had nothing except for the odd saturday morning since new years eve, then out of the blue comes all this!
Then on top of that I’ve got a job (most likely) starting in a couple of weeks at Gatwick Airport which is a nice earner and another job delivering frozen food to choose from, so its making the choices difficult.
Not sure if I should stick with the agencies for this year but risk lack of work again but more likely to get some good experience on different things, or work at Gatwick on class 2’s which is 4 on 4 off (2days and 2 nights) but cracking rates and overtime but can be a repetitive job (though I like a routine) and chance of a permanent job or do the frozen food job which is a mix of vans to class 2’s, different areas each time and probably a mad rush through summer but only a temp job?
I have done 1st full week since before Xmas. I still want a full time job though.

I’d rather have a full time job, just so I know that I’ll get paid roughly the same amount each week, and knowing when I’m working without relying on a phone call at silly o’clock would be nice.
I phoned agency yesterday and they said they were stone dead send some up here please?

Well,im next year back down to California for a walk,or maybe North in Nevada for a Fishing trip,with staying on a Ranger Camp Site at Topaz Lake full with Fish.just waiting to be eaten,and Competition every week "Who catches the biggest Fish.

I got paid £2520 for sitting out last year at this time (Jan-March).
If there’s one thing better than counting the dosh, its counting the free dosh in the free time you’ve got not earning it!
This year, I am aiming to work 20 days between now and March 31st. I’ve already booked 10 of them this week, so it’s a matchbox fence for me to jump for the remainder methinks…
(I rate the chances of proverbally tripping over the swan vestas very low with the early easter this year to boot!)
I’m talking tax rebates here folks - With regards to “benefits” - a totally different subject - I’ve claimed a total of 4 weeks UB/JSA in the last 20 years, so don’t nobody go calling me some benefit scrounger here if you don’t mind!
To get a big tax rebate in march you need only do lots of PAYE work throughout the tax year, then sit out a few weeks towards the end of the tax year. You get most of what you originally paid as “emergency tax” back, usually a 4 figure sum in my case.
“Tax rebates to come” doesn’t count as “assets on hand” that some umbrella can get their mits on either, as it’s all between you and HMRC with no middlemen to screw it all up! No deductions, and it doesn’t count towards your Year End totals either.
I won’t say “Happy Days” here 'cos I HATE that expression!

I’m hoping to get this years PAYE back next January, only 3 figures but every little helps. Got back this morning, checked the ewes and two of them had lambed, one had a very nice ram lamb and the other ewe had a one of each. 2 ewes left to lamb and hopefully one of them will pop today
Nothing in 4 weeks here (Ipswich area).
9 Agencies all quiet, unless you have HiAb. I’m tempted to do a course or at least a refresher.
