Brings back memories. I drove a Mammoth Minor Chinese six unit for J&J Campbell on Scottish trunk.

Beautiful smooth ride, but no traction at all in bad weather.

It would have been a twin to this one, number plate very similar:

Its not been restored and I took the picture earlier this year around april time.Its been parked there 2/3 yrs has i know of.

Thats got to be a good project for someone

I had a good old aec super mamoth major,one of the first with 5 speed box in the 70s when i worked for william nuttalls.It was an 8 wheeler,was comfortable to steer,fair fast at 50mph,only problem was servo assisted brakes,she would go but you had to work hard to stop her,happy days :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

I never found out myself after equirering all around at the time but that was the badge on the front,perhaps s/body on here has the answer.

Just looked it up on northwest truck site aec mammoth major introduced [new to fleet] 1965.The badge must have been a joke.question answered,sorry for any confusion.
