Based in Greenwich as a spare driver covering holidays, sickness and training. If there is no work in Greenwich driver will be required to work out of Rochester.
50 Hours per week contract
06:00 start Monday to Friday
Multijob Chemical deliveries, including Small bulk pumpovers
Pay:
£85.73 flat rate per day
£10.00 Performance bonus per day
£10.00 ADR bonus per day
£5.20 Attendance bonus per day
£11.88 per hour overtime after 10 hours completed on any standard working day (plus 45minute unpaid break)
£13.40 per hour overtime after 5 hours of overtime completed per week
Holiday 20 days plus bank holidays
£89.30 per holiday day
The ideal candidate will live in the Dartford area as they will be in the middle of the two bases i.e. Greenwich and Rochester.
Working from Greenwich when any of the regular drivers are on holiday or in training or off sick. If there is no work in the Greenwich depot, they will travel to Rochester and work from there. There will be no mileage payment for this different location unless the candidate has already driven to Greenwich and been told he/she is not required and will need to travel to Rochester.
Should the candidate not live in the Dartford area this needs to be understood before applying for this role.
Drivers will need to be punctual, fit with a good attitude to customer service and take pride in the vehicle you are driving. The driver must have ADR in packages and experience is desirable, especially with chemical pump overs.

Are there any laws/rules in ADR where it states that the driver MUST stay with the load ?
I’m not aware of any, but I’m no expert.
Even if there was, why’s that a problem for a break? Only a rest must you be free to dispose of your time as you see fit.
I don’t agree with unpaid breaks in haulage tbh, and it’s becoming quite common now, but them wages certainly aren’t bad, especially for a class 2, looking at the overall wage = who gives a ■■■■ about an unpaid break really.

My point is this -
Is the driver of an ADR load legally allowed to leave the load and perhaps go into a superstore for brekky as an example ?
