Be interesting to know if they used a proper adblue pump or just attached it to some other generic pump with a generic nozzle. Also wonder if they were a new driver as no one explained to me the difference between adblue and diesel - luckily I knew from previous sources, but a newbie could just see a pump and drop in a load of the wrong stuff I guess.Of course if slightly more experienced and proper pump then send them to Transline so they can work for Argos on ■■■■■■ vans and nothing ever bigger!
As for VOSA, the only time I was stopped they had VOSA / DVSA, HMRC and police sitting there looking rather bored. Maybe depends what they’re up to and where the truck comes from.
■■■■■■ vans have adblue now
HMRC has no legal power to stop a vehicle and if an HMRC bod comes to you while on a break, without a warranted police officer or a DVSA officer present, you are perfectly within your rights to tell him to bugger off. The only place HMRC can just turn up and insist upon the right to inspect is at the operating centre or at the ports.

Good luck with telling the customs to do one, they have a lot more powers than people realise far easier to let them get on with their job ask anyone who has given them a hard time in one of the ports once you are on their blacklist life becomes quite inconvenient. If they have no powers without the police present then why do they set up and dip in MSA’s?
Winseer:
Serious science question now:If you got about a cup full of adblue in the diesel tank - would it mix and dilute in enough so it would just burn with the fuel the same as it would when put through it’s normally seperate injection systeM?
Adblue does not burn .

In the workshop since January? How many parts do they have to replace? Serious question no sarcasm involved…Nothing to do with parts.
There is a serious problem at Avonmouth Truckstop were I made my mistake ref add-blu pumps that should have sent me to the gallows according to Adonis.
There have been statements supplied from various drivers/wrecker companies and local truck workshops ref the amount of honest mistakes being made and nothing being done to rectify.
Avonmouth Truckstop/Keyfuels MAY have a case to answer but that remains to be seen. With you. I take it your truck isnt being touched until the outcome of a possible court case?
I will take the 5th amendment on that one

Now I haven’t been to every truckstop or truck services in the UK/Ireland but as far as I’m aware it’s EXTREMELY rare for a stand-alone pump to have derv hose at one end and add-blu at other as I’ve stated on previous thread.
But it’s not a stand alone pump

Ports are customs controlled areas. MSAs and laybys are not, which is why they have the power to stop in ports. As for setting up at MSAs etc, you should find that either DVSA or Plod do the stopping so that HMRC can do the work but even .gov.uk says that HMRC has no power of detention or arrest.
I watched a HMRC bod undo the filler cap of a foreign regd motor in an MSA couple of weeks ago, no sign of the driver, he started to feed the pipe into the tank then he stopped after his colleague said something i didn’t quite catch, closed the tank up again and they moved on, i did wonder at the time how kosher it was opening up a tank and dipping it without the driver at least being present.

It’s mostly water, and small quantities will, just like water, simply swill around at the bottom of the tank until it is eventually sucked into the fuel system where it collects in the fuel filter.

My point being that if you know you are not running on red why get into an argument with them takes about 2 minutes to carry out the test and then you’re on your way. All these people who say this and that about not stopping or telling them where to go are generally people who never get stopped or are full of BS. Loaded at Culina in Irlam on Friday morning and listened to a Culina driver telling everyone that he would never stop for DVSA when on the road and then gave us all a tale of how when passing Beattock he was requested to pull in but he just moved lanes overtook Mr DVSA and went on his way having flashed his lights and blasted his horn at them. Pure BS but sounds great to impressionable young drivers I have never seen a Culina in a weighbridge and doubt I ever will perhaps a Culina driver on here will say different but I doubt it

The fuel island pump on left closest to the main building is “doubled up” as add-blu one side ,
derv the other which IMHO is rare.
I now notice that said “doubled-up” pump now has half a dozen new add-blu stickers on that side along with a nice new BLUE nozzle that now clicks off when it doesn’t sense a magnet in tank.
Also the actual digi display on what your about to despense has been totally revamped too.
Wonder why that is!!![emoji848]
Lights are still PISH though!!![emoji3]

I would not trust that as biodiesel will hold water suspended in it esp if the fuel bug is present
That happened at my place. I think it was about a 5k bill. Remember them saying it had new turbos for a start as it knackered them.
I noticed a driver pop the adblu nozzle in his main tank at Watling st truck stop .
Asked him if that was the correct pump , he went as white as sheet !
He did pay for my breakfast though .
