ad blue

Our FLs had several Adblue faults when new but mostly fine now, and ours do some pretty high mileage, the 09s are on 350,000+ now.

Muckaway:
The FE that broke down before Christmas with adblue fault, broke down again yesterday…just as it’s sister vehicles’ adblue fault had been fixed :unamused: Utter crap…

mine had an Ad Blue fault just last week wouldnt pump it out of the tank so then a countdown appeared on my dashboard giving me 45 hours to shutdown and then on top of that it then said no AdBlue engine derated by 45% on a 280 26 tonner that is a massive loss of power!!!

AdBlue won’t be going away. Most Euro 6 engines will have to use both EGR and SCR (AdBlue) to meet the regulations. Could be the end of the MAN and Scania EGR only offerings. Some Merc cars have Adblue too, although I think on the cars it is a service item rather than regular fill up. Bit of a con having it dealer fill only.

Both Scania and MAN will have to start using adBlue for the next generation Euro 6 engines.

I read it both in truckstop news and CV driver

So much for MAN’s ad campaign ‘Ad Nothing’ :unamused:

Companies should stop buying new lorries for 1 to 2 years and overhaul their old kit to let the manufacturers know they don’t like this adpoo…
I quite fancy having a go in an Atkinson Searcher/Defender tipper

My 2010 plate FH 460 uses 55litres of this crap every week, it’s a total pain in the t*ts.

Er whats, your point? For Euro4 & euro 5, MAN (& Scania) customers have been able to add nothing with the use of EGR to meet emission regs for the past x number of years & until you can no longer buy euro 5 which won’t be for a long number of years yet.

I would say the ad nothing campaign from MAN has been a massive success for them.
