Actros Radio Question

Today my radio lost its sound. Stopped for a collection, and when I got back in, there was no sound. Even when someone phoned me, there was no sound coming through the speakers via Bluetooth. Radio powered up OK and connected to my phone ok too but just no sound at all. Switched it off and on a few times and that made no difference. I did try fiddling with the volume before anyone asks. [emoji6] About an hour later after stopping for another collection, got back into the cab and everything was working perfectly again. [emoji53] Anyone had this happen before and know how to sort it in case it happens it again? Thanks.[emoji3]

I bet you £4.47 your phone is using Android 6 Marshmallow.
No end of problems with the Actros Bluetooth and Marshmallow.
It’s an Android problem as it didn’t happen in the last version.

Nope. Still on lollipop. But it wasn’t the phone that went wonky anyway. It was the radio in the truck.

Damoq. Do you have an Isotrak or anything in your cab?

Only had that problem with MM, it also plays music for about 3 minutes then stops, and then if you touch any button on the radio it switches off and resets

Yes. We’ve got Navman Wireless telematics/trackers in our trucks plus mine has fleetboard switched on too.

Used to have that problem on KitKat but not on lollipop. The radio used to change to German, freeze for a minute then switch itself off when streaming music.

Had this a few times in the past when my Samsung was paired to the Actros. Phone worked ok but radio would light up but no sound would come out. On I phone now and haven’t had a problem since. My conclusion is that the Actros system and android phones are not particularly compatible.

I now and again had a problem if I received/made a call on my Isotrak at Stobbies. Radio wouldn’t come back on.

I had to make another call and then end it, and the radio would come straight on again. Weird.

Presuming its the same set up as in the Arocs, mine used to do the very same, like its been muted.
It was always doing it and it would only reset itself if the ignition was off for 10 mins or more.
Has"nt done it for a while.
I put it down to the “newness” coming out of it.

That’s exactly what it was like. As if it was on mute. When it started working again, the ignition had been off for nearly 30mins. So sounds like leaving the ignition off for a time is the way to sort it. Truck is nearly 6 months old and its the first time it’s done it.

Yip. A few other drivers that have the Actros in our place and have iphones say they never have any problems at all. Actros just doesn’t appear to like android phones. [emoji35]
