Today my radio lost its sound. Stopped for a collection, and when I got back in, there was no sound. Even when someone phoned me, there was no sound coming through the speakers via Bluetooth. Radio powered up OK and connected to my phone ok too but just no sound at all. Switched it off and on a few times and that made no difference. I did try fiddling with the volume before anyone asks. [emoji6] About an hour later after stopping for another collection, got back into the cab and everything was working perfectly again. [emoji53] Anyone had this happen before and know how to sort it in case it happens it again? Thanks.[emoji3]
I had a 65 plate Actros and had this problem a few times. I got over it by putting the key in and out the slot a few times whenever it happened and it seemed to cure it.
This happened to me, a few days later it broke down on the night driver.
I was sitting in the cab listening to the radio, key in the slot engine off. FLT says move ya beem drive. Jump out, lard lardy lard, standing around chatting etc etc, goes back into the cab, radios turned it’s self off. Turned it on again nothing, just some crackling coming from the passenger side. Started engine, no dash lights no interior lights, but all extior lights worked. This mind you was a 64plate.
After ■■■■■■■ around for a while, trying different things to no joy I pulled the key jumped out and locked up. Closed my curtains and it all seemed to work again after I started the engine, radio interior/dash lights. I only use the truck to do a Warrington to Burnley run, an hour each way then the night lad takes it.
Couple of days later, I turn up for work no TM, he had to take another unit to collect the tailor because it broke down.
They are really nice drives tho, recently picked up a new 15plate to replace the broken one.
None of our drivers have this problem with Bluetooth and we’ve all got different phones… Might be because the LS (which I guess stands for Lowest Spec!) version of our 2543 units ain’t got an all singing/dancing stereo get up…I even think it costs extra if you want an aerial fitted!
To add… Jesus Tommy, u got easier run than me…least I do an hour 40 either way!
mine radio does the same in my 65 plate actros I just turn off then back on
