After seeing Mr Karn Hill, I can be sure we’ve found the missing link. :unamused:

Pieces of crap. One of them has already killed a pedestrian in 2015 :open_mouth:

Also more highly accurate BBC truck hate reporting. Travelling at MORE than DOUBLE the 30 mph speed limit? Must be a rapid MAN tractor unit considering there was no steep hill in sight and no loaded trailer pushing them :unamused:

3 legged dog and uncaring toy story on the way to the ferry bobtail aint it??

My thoughts exactly.

It was the prosecutors in court that claimed the stolen truck was going at 60mph, not the BBC.

Yes, but the BBC, in their unique position, chose to report a claim. People are still daft enough to trust the BBC, that is the problem.

Not condoning it at all, but there appears to be a bit of a back story here…

"Mellor, who was employed by Barnsley-based City Freight Services, said he was owed two-and-a-half weeks’ wages and told his boss he would hand over the truck when he was given the money. "

lying scumbag chancing his arm with a not guilty…
they will be out around 5 years or so…
merely for the way they look they should have had maximum dave sentencing them and given them an extra 5…

According to our local news, these 4 individuals were well well known over a period of time for their criminal and intimidating activities in the area around Grimethorpe and Shafton and should have been removed from society years ago.

The members of the jury were entrusted to beleive the evidence put before them in a court of law, not what someone thought on the internet. And the BBC reported that, like it or not.

You miss the point. A claim is not evidence.

I should also point out that a jury is not entrusted to believe the evidence that is put before them. They are appointed to examine the evidence, establish facts, and form a verdict, based on the conclusion thereof.

If I was laying any blame anywhere other than those involved I did read in the article the Police had started chasing them. I have very mixed feeling on the benefits of the Police engaging in vehicle chases.

The quick answer is that a pursued vehicle will often speed up, beyond the driver`s capabilities, and crash, maybe taking innocent victims, as here.
Holding back and identifying those involved, to catch them later, may be safer. It may not be “Hollywood cool”, but each case needs assessment.

Edit to add, any blame though should rest firmly with the morons in the truck, of course.

But if they don’t, we end up with what we have had in London for years, the well-publicised epidemic (and it is) of ■■■■■■■■■ on mopeds committing crime with impunity, knowing full well that the Police aren’t allowed to chase them. I feel sorry for the cops, whatever course of action they take, there’s always somebody who’s got it in for them, or possibly more accurately - exploit the situation for financial gain.
