But if they don’t, we end up with what we have had in London for years, the well-publicised epidemic (and it is) of [zb] on mopeds committing crime with impunity, knowing full well that the Police aren’t allowed to chase them. I feel sorry for the cops, whatever course of action they take, there’s always somebody who’s got it in for them, or possibly more accurately - exploit the situation for financial gain.

The world ain`t just black and white. Chasing a car in town at school run time, because he has no road tax is different from a pursuit of armed robbers at midnight.
And we know there’s been problems with moped crime, so the rules have changed to allow more active pursuit. Good for that.

That’s not the point I was making, perhaps nuance doesn’t work on the internet.
The point is, things have swung too far in favour of the bad guys. I’m well aware that the world isn’t black and white, and of course every incident is different, and requires a unique response. What I’m saying is, if there is no deterrent, some people will act in a way which endangers many more people than would be affected by a vehicle chase. If you grow up selling puff on a moped, you will probably go on to become one of the armed robbers being chased at midnight. If you never get lifted for lesser crimes, you will go on to commit serious ones.
As evidenced by one of the occupants of the crashed MAN, a local ner-do-well, with a history of petty crime, ends up in a tractor unit - in a house, with an innocent woman dead, becuase of said tractor unit.

I see your point much clearer now.
Thanks.
Sorry, I tend to type the same way as I talk, and when people don’t see what I mean, I CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON’T.
When actually, it’s my own fault…

Accurate factual reporting would help a lot in cases like this. A moped is limited to thirty miles per hour, if it can go faster it is a motor cycle. Recently there was what we were told an RTA involving a mini bus twenty four passengers were aboard. A mini bus can only have sixteen passenger. The footage let us see that it was a bus and not a mini bus. This sort of thing goes on all of the time, is it fake news or just lazy reporting? I don’t like the idea of the police being in hot pursuit either, they could radio in and a stinger could stop the vehicle

Absolutely, if they can’t get basic facts correct, what chance the veracity of the article?
I’ve seen stories about people I know in “respected” newspapers, that have been very inaccurate to say the very least.

Once they are banged up again they can watch t.v. without paying for a licence. British justice at its best, no wonder so many want to come here.

Where did they hide the unit for two and a half weeks?
This was never going to end well with these four clowns treating the the truck like a nicked Corsa complete with the usual bilking

It was being driven around one of the most notorious estates in Barnsley (Kendray) not far from where the scrote lived who stole it from work for a few days before they crashed it. also they were told to get out of Grimethorpe another notorious estate in Barnsley the same day they killed the woman as the police were aware it was in the area. They were getting out of Grimethorpe with it when the crash happened if I’m not mistaken.
