Aberdeen - WARNING

Ive never had any problems with the police when ive left things like that about the cab, used to leave trailer handle in the passenger footwell, even had a knife sitting in the ashtray which i used to open up pallets and had the police in the cab and they have never said anything.

But think your insane Scanny, if i was sleeping in my cab and someone got into the cab yeah i would hit them with something in self defence.

But what your talking about is getting out the cab with something which would turn into an offence weapon when you did and “smashing” skulls in. The full weight of the law would drop upon you, the other guys if they ran off and got caught would do 6months and you would be rotting in a prison cell for the next 10 over an insured trailer, take about throwing your life away. Or worse end up getting overpowered by a group of them and getting murdered. Its never been part of my job to risk serious jail time or risk being murdered.

Ive done nights out and been woken up to hear a noise and looked out to see some guys at the trailer, i blasted the horn and 9 times outta 10 they run off and you call the police, thats the sensible thing to do. Thats the kinda advice any decent boss would give you.

either you were in the army cadets or did not quite everything that your instructor was trying to communicate to you in that respect.
Or were they more interested in you saving the pots and pans rather than living to fight another day ■■?

i was a reg and the kit i carried wasnt pots and pans. i carried top secret crypto equipment which obviously has no relation to what i carry now but the principles are the same. im paid to do a job, i do my job and that means returning the vehicle to the operator after my shift. its called devotion to duty :unamused:

It is not devotion to duty, it is blind stupidity or at the very least misplaced loyalty to place your life as an employed driver on the line for something that is insured anyway which means that the both your boss and the customer will be reimbursed.
As for the top secret crypto equipment which wouldn’t be anything that has not already been cracked to a certain extent by any hostile goverment, exactly the same as we have cracked most of theirs.

What is the company policy in the event of this happening??..

I know what ours is, “Never compromise your own safety”(Basically says to me “let them have it”) and i think its a safe bet that most companies are the same too…

Seeing as you pride yourself on doing a professional job and trying to be a model “pro”, surely you would want to stick to company policy??

i had a mate who tackled thugs trying to get in his container…

he got whacked on the back of the head with bolt croppers and left for dead in the road. he was intensive care for months and had to learn to walk and talk all over again. he lost his job, his wife left him and he lost his house. 6 years on and he still isnt right. so you jump out rich and take them on and good luck to you. me personally il stick to blasting the horn option and calling the police.

Scanny in the Diesel Theft Thread:
you cant do much about this problem. if you lock the cap they will puncture the tank and thats a lot more expensive than letting them have it. ■■■■■ are known for it and they tend to arm themselves from what i have heard so either let them away with it or attract some attention with your lights and horn

So whats the difference between diesel and a load…

its called devotion to duty

It’s called stupidity Scanny,if you think your gonna get the top drivers award for fending off some moron’s then sorry m8,but your wired to the moon,It’s time you got back to plant earth m8.
