A41 Your life in their hands

it amazes me how people no so much about these vans i couldnt really care how they work as it doesnt concern me as i stick to the speed limit ,im an od and i dont bealeve sticking to the speed limit has lost me any work due to arriving at place some 2 mins later than someone who has broke the speed limit on a s/c a road
i think people need to get back to the attitude of respecting other hgv drivers and setting good examples of profesional driving then the job will be better for every one

Was passed by two “Heros” on Friday night going north into Tern Hill. Second motor decided to take the traffic island on the wrong side. Saw them both parked up in the Raven a few minutes later, wonder what the rush was?
I NEED a dash cam

They were few heros also on it last night was like a grand prix at one ■■■■■■■ stage.
It wonder why there isnt any late nites death on that road with lorry drivers serious maddness.

DonutUK:
Either drive at a realistic speed or use the lay bys and let the drivers who want to get on with go by.

Too many drivers tossing the job off and hiding behind an archaic barely enforced law.

I guess a bit tongue in cheek perhaps.

Two words.

Gatso and Truvelo…

This is the internet, you have to remember that. The other week ■■■■■ was complaining of drivers having a drink. Now he appears for them to want to get on. Treat it all with a pinch of salt. And as regards archaic barley enforced law, statistically that archaic bareley enforced law would be drink driving. We know this because there’s loads more done for speeding

A68 Scottish borders. I was told there are Police officers now sitting and hiding with tablets and catching you speeding. Is this true?

I also did 40mph after hearing that and had an artic go past me on a hill giving me the ■■■■■■ sign, what the ■■■■!

When I started on for the firm I’m on with now I told him that I don’t speed, his reply was you’ll not get much done at 40. I asked f he’d take the points he said no and gave me the job. He obviously cant have that much of a problem with me sticking to the law.

O/Ds might say that time’s money or whatever but how much can you earn while your sleeping off a ban?

Seems to be two camps on here the capital D Drivers and the dicks with a licence. Why would anybody with half a brain risk getting points on their licence on a daily basis, to get more done, the only person benefiting is the boss who trust me will be laughing his bits off at you, and if you are on an hourly rate and still do it, the half a brain is definitely an exaggeration of size.
For the ones on load/speed incentive bonus ask yourself who between you and your boss is getting the better half of the deal, you are risking your licence/livelihood he is risking jack sh. (apart from that I thought that this type of scheme was made illegal years ago anyway!)
I myself am not perfect (yeh, I know, hard to believe  ) but nine times out of ten I do stick to the limit, and I must be doing something right as my licence is clean, I regularly pull in to let others both cars and trucks pass, and do not speed up to 56 on a d/c as suggested by one of the stars on this thread.
I know 40 is slow, but my incentive is to keep my licence, and as I said I’m as guilty of speeding as all of us may be, but to benefit ME not anybody else.
Once you have done the job a long time you eventually get a lightbulb moment :bulb: , and see things a lot differently ,to what they are intended to appear to you by others, looks like some on this thread have not got there yet

And what do you call realistic ?

Keep her just below 50mph and you will get no trouble from the police when you are at the head of 6 or 7 lorries your 40 translates to below 30 for the seventh lorry. On the two occasions when I have been done for speeding on the A75 on both occasions the coppers words were " keep her off the limiter as that is kicking the arse out of it but keep her just below 50 and we will not bother you" this on a road that is about the most heavily policed as regards lorries in the UK.
Slightly off topic but when did we become such a profession of touts if you don’t like what the driver ahead or behind you is doing then when he stops go up to him man up and tell him to his face he was driving like an idiot, if you haven’t the guts to do that then just let it go instead of sneaky phone calls to his boss. The police are there to police the roads not a bunch of amateur Inspector Clouseau’s

How dare you our professionals are fully trained TNuK CSI . THERE AINT NOTHING THEY CANT SOLVE :grimacing:
