Dangerous road. Far too much traffic on it. Been 7 deaths this year so far.
Radar19:
Dangerous road.
What’s dangerous about the road?
I use it regularly, I would say that it is not fit for purpose, in that it is not wide enough at several points and you get one of those lorries with a wide caravan on it and you are dicing with an off carriageway experience, a car driver drifting over the white line(which is now more frequent due to phones) and you are in the field…Not fit for purpose, like many roads in Lincolnshire at present.
I slow down to avoid such incidents, but many don`t.

Dead straight, hidden dips, the volume of traffic, the tight parts after the speed cameras. Everyone sits on the limiter only coming off to avoid getting snapped. If you look at where that Bentons lorry went over there is little to no space between the white line and the dirt. If you go up and down the road now, its full of huge gouge marks where drivers have lost the trailer but managed to recover.
I’m not saying its dangerous for the sake of things, the facts speak for themselves. Last month they had one bury it in a field to avoid crashing into the back of a car with kids on board. Another where a women was over taking three cars in a dip, met a wagon coming the other way. Head on smash, she died.

Nothing wrong with the road. Its the people behind the wheel who cause the accidents

The people using the road are making it dangerous.
Probably done by the same sort of driver that can put a truck on its side on a straight bit of motorway!!
At a guess swerving to avoid something in front and over reacted stuff happens I suppose.
No load is ‘REALLY’ that important. (except body parts)

Why. I’ve only driven it twice but I thought it was quite a nice road.
I’ve been on it loads and loads of times without any problem.
I’ve also been parked up on the carriageway for several hours when someone else has obviously had a problem

As have I but you can’t deny the facts. It is a dangerous road. Third most dangerous road in Lincolnshire as off 2014. I use it to get from Immingham to Newark, A1 and A46. I used to use it daily to get to and from work when I lived in the centre of Lincoln.

Or simply bad driving??
Roads don’t move, they are there and that’s it! If in doubt slow down or stop!
I don’t reckon there are many roads in England that could be classed as dangerous. I know the 15 and it’s a case of driving to the conditions.

That would be logical but many who use that road don’t thus making it dangerous.

Poor driving standards yes, very much so. Which is also the cause of many accidents thus making it a dangerous road to use.
The stretch from the M180 to Caenby Corner is the worst part, just before the turn to B1205.
The road is noticeably narrower and the camber tries to push to towards the verge/field, as long as you are aware of it it’s not too much of a problem, but there is certainly plenty of evidence of people being caught unawares.

+1 it was a red route a few years ago (unsure now) I know it well and it does get very narrow at one point… If it was a choice of hit another wagon or bin it, I know what I’d do
There is a narrow section on that road when heading southbound there’s a dip in the verge and it throws you all over the place.
As others have said, dodgy road!

There also seems to be some road damage that will try and throw you in random directions. I always slow down for this bit, then check my mirror as car drivers try and overtake me. Regardless of oncoming traffic.
No such thing as dangerous road? Maybe not, but it certainly contributes.
