Good photo, don’t think any of our lads have old ones like that
Last year was a great success so why change the format? We went to the reunion to meet up with old workmates and talk about times gone and sadly workmates that had departed this life. As the old adage says = If it isnt broke dont mend it. I have no interest whatsoever in peoples partners wives etc all the evening is supposed to represent is A - One not happy families. So thanks but no thanks I will save myself a 150 mile round trip.

Dont know about the 90s, in the late70-early80s things being tough I seem to remember a few aone lads were encouraged to become owner drivers by JR. One the drivers was thinking of taking him up on his offer and buying the old F86 Id been driving before getting a new F7. He stopped me in Leeds yard to quiz me about it. I told him it wasnt a bad one but to check on a the main air pipe from the compressor to the tanks. Id broken down with an airleak , managed to disconnect the the pipe and brazed a bit of bean tin over the crack to get me home, at the farm I was delivering to. Told the garage when I got back but sure enough when we tilted the cab there was the brazed pipe still going strong. He said if it had lasted that long I must have done a 1st class job and as there wasn`t any other problems he was going to go ahead with it. Too many years gone by to remember his name but often wondered how he got on.
