Even if you all are from the Leeds / Bradford / Halifax Area. Now if you were from Pickering…
That would put you all in a different class.

Cheers, Archie.
Yes Mr Paice, but a much lower one unfortunately

Hullo JJ,
Thank you so much. You do I hope realise that we still have good fresh air up here, and excellent real Yorkshire Pubs , remember them ? What is it we say now ? Ah! yes [zb]
Cheers, Archie.
Those words would attract the auto-censor if they were in English, so writing them in Italian instead doesn’t mean that they’re allowed. .dd
Come on, Mark. Surely you can see that you have hit their Unfunny bones… Must have been several occasions for them and they can’t remember the specifics…
I bet they used to love places with big green signs, too.

they have air just as clean around there now too, on account of they closed all the industry
And on the subject of pubs you must spend half the winter supping that Brahma beer and cachaca (sp?) anyroad
FFS just how many times will you lot need to be told that A One drivers we`re not being slagged off
If you take the user name and his real name - newmercman / mark lee, then jumble the letters about (and add a few) it comes up with this,
Yorkshire Born, Yorkshire Bred, Strong in’t arm and thick in’t head
NO ONE SLAGGED A ONE DRIVERS OFF

Hullo JJ,
Yes I do agree that it is a lot cleaner over there now. Though I’ve always liked the West Riding countryside anyway, and the odd pint or three of Timothy Taylors never ever went amiss. Most especially when we were tipping at Peter Blacks.
Unfortunately since my heart operation I have been on Warfarin, so have to be careful (ish) about my alcholic intake, but as you say the odd Brahma chopp plus the odd glass of Cachaca, is taken occasionally, but only for medecinal purposes of course you understand. Though I always try to have my Meia Garrafa de Pinot Noir tudo noite con minha Jantar
Spoke to my Kev this morning, he said to say Hullo. He’s been on with A.V.Dawson three years now.
Cheers, Archie.

Please give him my regards, wish I’d known as I’ve landed a fair bit of stuff on Dawson’s Wharf in the last 3 years, and know a few of the longer serving drivers too
Hi All. After giving it some thought i think we should get this site/thread back on the road. I know i said i would leave it,but without this link we may never have got in touch with each other again. When i went to the reunion i met drivers that i never expected to see again, and it would be sad if we all lost touch with each other again. if somebody posts something on here that you don’t like, all we need to do is ignore it and not get drawn into a slanging match. I hope you will all agree with my comments as i have quite a few a one photo’s to go on the future page’s. Also photo’s from the reunion, so please lets get this up and running again. Yours Hopefully. (Alan).
Polite reminder.
No names need mentioning at this point, but this is a polite and gentle reminder that posters should post within the forum rules. (PLEASE!!)
Let’s leave out the personal stuff, otherwise we might have to lock what is a very good topic, and I think that would be a shame.
The forum rules can be read by clicking the link at the top of the page.
Thanks guys.

I’m just (supposed to be!) clearing out our spare room, and came across a photo in T&D from February 2006 of an a-one Mercury registered 6319UG, loading at Case Tractors in “Leeds”
Photo was apparently sent in by a Jeff Ellener and is of his father Jack Ellener who died in 2001, if anybody knew him?

Welcome back Keith, nice to see you had a good time, I hope you didn’t do anything I wouldn’t have done, .
Regarding the reunion it wouldn’t have been the same without you there, that’s why we had it on that day so you could be there and go away with a bad head, I hope you got to Heathrow on time and didn’t have them waiting for you, you know what these pilots are like there very impatient, not like lorry drivers,
.Regards :-Jack

Thanks jack, had al kinnon in crossroads today he enjoyed the do and the food, and waiting for the next one
Hi to Keith 2, thanks and glad you enjoyed it, and dont worry when we get together again, maybe the same venue or another place it dont really matter, we will try to make it at least as good, and even better than this last one.
Were open to suggestions from everyone as to where and when the next reunion will take place, we did our best this last time and it was just so great to see every one enjoying chatting and having a great time, so dont forget to give us your ideas and we can start when it suits you all, the sooner we start the sooner we can make a booking along with dates, and then you can all arrange around the date for your holidays, let’s try it in the warmer weather then we can have it almost anywhere. Regards :-Jack
