A whole new level of stupid

All that is missing is the Benny Hill music

Err that was posted by the truck owner  The youtube name is is the same as the one on the truck or am I completely misunderstanding ? Why would you want to publicise the fact that you had made a major error in employing someone as daft as daft as that ?

It’s quite common name, could just be a coincidence.

What started off as a embarrassing yet rather simple recovery operation quickly turned into a massively expensive repair all because the driver is a numpty.

At least the Muppet was wearing a hiviz jacket and trousers , i could not see if the airlines had been ripped out , or did he take them out and spin around with the shunt trailer button ?
Looks a like a drug or alcohol test would have been needed .

How can anybody be THAT stupid■■?

Because it was to much effort to turn left (or right possibly?), then reverse up the track and drive forward back into the yard.

I love at 1.20 he wants to get out to see the damage he’s caused but he realises he can’t open either door!

Yes, think you are right, although if I was Herr Kohler the truck owner I think I might be trying to put some pressure on the distant cousin to take it down

The bigger question is, though…was it doable at all■■?

A perfect example…

Of not having a good plan, panic and inexperience. An expensive combination. What seems to me to be a fairly simple set of options became a disaster for this guy.

The panic has set in as he goes for the ‘I’ll give it some welly and it’‘ll come round’ part.

The Dcpc could go some to stop this kind of tomfoolery by explaining that are other options to the spin it round in one manouvre which for many drivers appears to be the only option they know.

He may also be related to an ex Mick George driver.

Good question…

In the same place, I’d have been out of the lorry and looking at my options. Might be possible to do a right then back up and come back in on your good side.

It was obvious to me that it was never gonna go round in one.

One of the most reasoned posts I seen on here…I totally agree, the guy could also be tired, under immense office pressure, have serious family problems and as you said reason dissappears when panic sets it… etc etc…I’m not a believer but to get the point across…there but for the grace of good go i…I always feel sad not smug watching these type of clips…

I remember an old hand saying an artic will turn in its length, as you known not the case, I was new and sent to a mission impossible delivery. …dcikheads watching, not helping may it way worse…etc…and could nearly have caused damage but was just lucky…plus itook a full 30 mins to get ithe on the dock…I was exausted at the end and felt like quiting driving…

.maybe they should demonstrate tight maneuvers at train schools to avoid people misjudgin these situations

People in glass houses should not throw stones…numpty?..yet you have a 109 lwb…hmmmmmm

I’m certainly not going to throw stones as i’ve been in tight situations like this and thought yes, i think i can just make it but then after getting the thing bent double have found out it’s just too tight. I’ve managed to get back out without damage but sometimes there looks to be just enough room when there isn’t. But having said that i would have twigged it’s too tight before knocking bits off the wagon.

id blame the most likely automatic gearbox, but luckily the driver was dressed head to toe in hi viz ppe.
it could have been fatal if he wasnt wearing it. :open_mouth:

^^^^^^^^^^^^
probably stuffed down his skiddies protecting his clakkerbags that would no doubt be the first place his boss would be booting back at the yard.

I wonder what made him think that was at all possible? I know I wouldnt have attempted it. Personally id have turned left and backed it up
No way an inexperienced driver attempted that manoeuvre though. Thats a guy with experience who tries that tight a spin.

I cant get the link to work?
