Evening anyone done a interview & driving assessment for them info please ■■?

My son worked for them out of Penrith for a year and really enjoyed it. He didn`t have any complaints…well, the wages were a bit complicated/impossible to work out, as transport operators enjoy doing. He reckoned he got enough money at the end of the week, but God knows how they worked it out.
He only left to go to a super-job or he would have stayed.

Dead man’s shoes once over, a lot of drivers have left over last few years and now they are always looking for drivers.
Usually in that sort of scenario there is a good reason for it. :bulb:

Yip. Some of those walking floors do the odd load of municipal waste. So you could have a turd filled disposable nappy smeared from front to back of the trailer or hanging from from the roof bar. Nice.

Drivers don’t like hard work. If a company struggles to get drivers it doesn’t automatically mean they are crap to work for. It’s a huge company so they’re always going to be looking for drivers.
They’re on decent enough wedge.

Cheers guys Can’t be any worse than what I do now, dust, ankle deep in animal faeces (or higher ).

Hard work?..and why is Jenky’s work/job any harder than your’s, mine, or anybody else’s exactly?
Look, I neither know nor care if Jenkys is a good or bad firm, but if a firm IS a good firm, who look after and consider their drivers (it, also does not matter how ‘‘huge’’ it is), you can sure as hell bet that it does mean there will not have a high turnover of drivers.
That was my point to the o/p.

What’s the money like?

What’s the money like?

£620ish take home for Mon - Fri tramping.

Chipliners are a fair graft, particularly when tipping. Walking Floors are a piece of ■■■■. Pretty dirty work in the winter.

Planners are a lottery. Some are fine; some are quite pushy.

Opened a depot near me.

Ex work mate went on for them…two others shortly followed.

All in. Nights out included based on a 60 hour week. Although, tbf, it’s about a year now since I did it so it may have changed.

I’ve worked for Jenkinsons,
the jobs easy as you’d like. Dirty though.
You can expect 600-700 in the bank each week, that’s inclusive of night out monies.
You will max your hours regularly and like has been said above, some planners are better than others.
As RobRoy points out, there is a high turnover of drivers. The main reason being that the job is now more focused towards the waste and recycling sector than the forest products side, unless on a chipliner. Well that’s how it seemed to me when I spoke to drivers who were leaving.
Good luck if you go for it, it’s not the worst job, and not the best. But some love it. Others loathe it.

Nothing wrong with waste, once you get used to the smell, you don’t notice it. Easy to load and I imagine a walking-floor is easy to tip.

At least you don’t have to hang around in a “driver safe area” whilst you unload

Well, as I say, it’s over a year since I did it so I’m in no position to call anyone a liar and that’s great if true but it would certainly surprise me. £750 - £800 was the LTD take home when I was doing it.

Take home still in the £6■■ Range
To get £7■■ Would prob mean he worked a bank holiday Mon (£110 )

Lots of drivers are fine until they get the black bag rubbish jobs and they are expanding also bad planner equals a lot leaving
