afaik I think it’s a salary, plus the old… ‘percentage of truck earnings’ of which the actual gross figure is never revealed to the drivers, it is alleged.
I can’t think why that is, but I am sure it will have nothing to do with the driver being unable to work out what he will receive, or the firm putting down whatever the hell they decide, or the fact that it may constitute an illegal incentive safety compromising bonus, and I would never suggest the contrary in any shape or form, as it is based on hearsay and not reported fact.

Speculate all you like but at the end of the day , I don’t worry how my wage is made up as I just work away at a steady pace 100% legally and am more than happy with my take home pay . I speak to drivers from other companies doing the same sort of work & I earn more in 5 days than they do for 5 + Saturday . I think you’d be surprised how many companies still pay % or per tip/load especially tipper work . I know it shouldn’t be allowed , but since when did the haulage industry play by the same rules as other " professional " occupations ?

If you are happy mate fair play, there’s a lot to be said for being happy with your job.
I just can not figure out why some of them act as if they are being pushed when they are not, and treat it like an endurance test on a work and sleep basis when they do not have to.
At the end of the day it has nothing to do with me and I couldn’t give a ■■■■, it’s just that I have a mate there who works away at a steady pace and is constantly amused at some of the superstars who work there, and normally shares his amusement and contempt with me.
