A w Jenkinson

ok guys I’ve got a driving assessment and interview at jenkys , now I’ve heard mixed reports some of the older guys have said its ■■■■ and some of the new boys ( 18 month) say it’s ok any info greatly appreciated already on a walking floor cheers boys

just remember that regardless of what the assesor tells you we drive on the left in this country and until April the 6th you cant go flat out on a single carriageway

You will need to get a Jenky buzzcut. Washing hair takes up too much time. Also without hair you dunt need a bottle of shampoo. The weight of the shampoo and the lack of hair means you can carry an extra 7 wood chips.

are you Old or Young?

Go out to the garden, stick your head in the compost pile. Like the smell? Good, you’ll fit in.

Now, nip outside, open the black wheely bin… Stick your head in. Maybe throw a few bits of rubbish around, poke a few dirty nappies… Get acquainted with it… You’ll be doing this… Alot.

What about mashed up mdf? Chipboard? All those nice carcinogens with only a flimsy dust mask.

Oh and you’ll be tramping. So no guarantee of a wash.

Sounds delightful sigh me up !!!im er young (47) …pretty much wot I thought cheers boys

I know a few drivers who work for Jenks, not a bad job with decent money ,they seem to keep drivers a long time, the only thing is they are tracked, and kept going by spotty youths in the office watching the red dots on screen move about.

You missed out the - gobby - bit

just remember stobarts paid 30million in March 2010 for a controlling interest. So you will be part of the Stewart group. Just not have to admit it.

BeeN tippin along side some of em the day said basically same

Has anyone noticed the reg prefix ‘PX’ was predominantly used by all Stobart vehicles then around 2010/11 it shifted to AW Jenks trucks, the Stobart walking floors kept the ‘PX’ prefix though.

Don’t get that. If some of the older guys say it’s ■■■■ then why are they still there?? Probably they’re the ones who dictate they won’t run in the odd sat morning, want only certain runs and can’t take that trailer 5 mins down the road as they’re on 9 hours 58 mins driving and 89 hours 58 mins driving for the fortnight as they get back to the yard even though they’ve been local all week
You find most folk that complain to anyone and everyone about the outfit they work for are like those I have just described, won’t do the odd favour or help out now and again but expect heaven and earth in return but whinge when they don’t get it.
Give it a try you’ll only find out for yourself if it’s not your thing.

I know. It’s as though if you tramp you look forward to it raining so you can stand outside and get a free shower :unamused:

I love these day driving tools who think because we are out all week we can’t get a wash. I wash, shower and occasionally shave.

+1 there is no reason these days why, with only a little forward planning, you cannot get a wash, shave, shower & hot meals every day if you so wished.
As for the company all I can say, after following them up the A1, is that some do 39mph while others are going eyeballs out.

All that means is the truck was registered at the Carlisle DVLA office, quite a common thing for stuff from this area. Most of the Volvo’s would be sourced from Truck and Bus on Kingstown Ind Estate, Carlisle so makes sense to register them near by.

Some of the FH4s have “Kx” regs as they were done from Volvo HQ.

Shame they’ve lost a nice Stobart tradition :frowning:
