For all that he carried out our marriage ceremony, when his daughter wanted to leave me for another man, he (and his wife) encouraged her, even though she told them I had always been a good husband, and she had no complaints.

Im very sorry to hear this but I can only say,that is not something a Christuan could do.There are many people who call themselves Christians and we even have them in the pulpit preaching,but a true Christian could not encourage a woman to leave a good husband,not to mention a bad one.

Well, a Snake Oil salesman is someone who sells lies, much like an evangelizing Christian does, only the snake oil is in a bottle and claims to cure all earthly ills, whereas your “snake oil” comes from a book and claims to offer “eternal life”
