Whilst waiting in the “safe haven” for my load to be tipped I overheard this jem
“ Vosa stopped me and dipped the adblue tank to check it was the right strength “
any one else heard this one yet ?
Teatime
I have heard of people trying to water down adblue roughly 70\30 mix, but this only gives you exhaust system warning lights an as far as Im aware it does the engine in. not heard of VOSA checking for it tho…

How can a spray in the cat do the engine in?
Too much water can corrode the ad blue injector, which is costly to replace, doesn’t effect the engine.
Exhaust or ad blue sensors CAN restrict the engine power to reduce emissions and save the planet, but it’s all done through the ecu so won’t cause any permanent damage.
I,ve heard VOSA having to test false tanks and taste the contents, to make sure it ain’t WKD
If thats true Rooster I would P in the tank ,if I had an ad-blu tank.

Im not a macanic it was just what the Daf fitter was telling me, who knows he may have been talking crap. But just assumed being a macanic he knew what he was on about.
vosa don’t test adblue. never have. never will.
Looks like you’ve got some more judging by the replies on here .
Watered down adblue doesn’t corrode the ‘injector’ as adblue is a mild alkali solution it’s corrosive anyhow (20% solution of urea crystals & reverse osmosis water), watering it down will make it less corrosive. The problem with the ‘injector’ comes about when adblue is mixed with tap water, the mineral deposits in suspension cause havoc as they do with any system that atomises a liquid. Best use r/o water, usually found near the battery chargers for electric forklifts.
Using incorrect solution/strength of adblue willl cause the ecu to reduce power, no adblue (level sensor), excess Oxides of Nitrogen or NOX (NOX sensor) and as adblur is an electrolyte, conductivity can be measured, you might be able to fool one maybe two sensors but not all three.
■■■■■■■ in the tank won’t work.
I can only assume that ‘Adblue’ is the UK version of DEF fluid and can’t imagine why anyone would go to the trouble of watering it down FFS My truck uses about a gallon of DEF every 1,000 miles give or take a hundred now and then. I don’t see how or why VOSA would even bother to test it either
Truck drivers are full of BS and everywhere you go you will hear crap from guys who just need someone to talk to because they enjoy gossip and company. It’s like the idiot over here who insist elogs shut the engine down when your time runs out
They have seen it happen and look like proper twonks when I tell them when I run out of time it keeps on going, allbeit ilegally
Then there are the guys going in the opposite direction when you are in a queue because of an accident who claim they know all about it, who was hurt, what he did and even that he was drunk … did this bloke stop, get out of his cab and run across the road to ask the cops what happened

Pat, is there any tescos in the USA?
MMTM
I often stick a can of red bull in with the diesal to make the truck go faster
A driver with the engine blowing up,carried on to park up in Victors in Spain, rather than stop at the side of the road, the boss was well pleased with him,p45 on arrival in the UK.

i use monster and a few pro pluss works a dream
i had 8 Pro Plus pills on the night shift, never again,i felt like a zombie on my day off,and was cream crackered.
A mate told me his mate had a hose pipe in the floor of his cab,so he could have a wee while driving, like the trains with toilet wee on the train tracks going along.
