"A mate, you look like a nob!"

Havin me break on pops, no signs of the sun the sky looking pretty bleak, and this fella pulls along side me with sun glasses on, and before you say it no they r not prescription.

I’m guessing it must make him feel like a real trucker(smoky and the bandit era) but really it made him look a proper nob.

So why do it?

I usually wear sunglasses all day. Nothing to do with looking cool. It helps reduce the strain on your eyes. Sunny or not, outside is a million times brighter than inside during the day. Your eyes feel it after a few hours. I found that wearing sunglasses all day reduced the amount of headaches I was getting to ■■■■ near nil.

moan moan moan .

Me too

Maybe it to protect his eyes from everyone flashing him for having his front fogs on?? :smiling_imp:

To be honest I never used to understand this either until one day whilst driving on an overcast day my passenger passed me his Ray Bans to try. Wow, what a difference! As someone who wouldn’t pay more than £5 for shades before I became a convert. I now wear Oakley Ducatis and it feels like having virgins massaging your eyeballs!

I still look like a nob when I wear them unfortunately.

I often wear sunglasses in conditions other than bright sunshine. I don’t think it has anything to do with making myself "feel like a real trucker (Smokey and the Bandit era), nor do I care if somebody thinks I look like a proper nob. I wear them to reduce the strain on my eyes.

As others have said sunglasses are often more use in overcast conditions. I often wear them as yes it does reduce headaches. Its worth spending decent money on sunglasses too. Your eyes are so precious that cheap sunglasses are a false economy.

To be honest though I do wonder why you seem to have got sufficiently wound up by it to come and post on a forum. What next, moaning because someones shirt is so last season?

I too find it easier on the eyes wearing sunglasses especially more so in the afternoon when maybe your eyes are feeling the strain.
Saying that I do need a new pair soon as mine are hanging.

Why don’t you pull him from his truck and give him the thrashing he so obviously deserves

My wife had some sunglasses with a polarising layer on the lens. They were absolutely fantastic, vision was clear and glare was non existent. I’d definitely get some. As said before, even wearing them on an overcast day can reduce eye strain. I’d quite happily look like a nob with sunglasses on and not go home with a headache.

If your wearing Tom Cruise (Top Gun) style mirrored aviators, in any weather, then yes you’re a nob

Why do you care and how the hell do you know they are not prescription glasses?

Same here nearly always were them ,I hate the strain on your eyes and wearing them does reduce it.i bought a pair in lidl about three years ago ,they were five pound, with interchangeable lenses ,I think they are for skiing ,plastic, and I still have them.
