I know this is a long shot but tonight I was put in a ditch by another truck on the A77 all because some ■■■■■■■■ wanted to make the boat.
A plain white Scania G/Streamline cab pulling a plain white tri-axle box. The only identifying mark I was able to pick out was a red and yellow how is my driving on the bottom right of the trailer roller shutter. ■■■■■ if you ask me.
This was south of Girvan at around 1745, the driver boarded a Stenaline ferry apparently. The police tried to catch him at the boat but were unable to do so as he had already left.
He knew fine well he put me off the road as he braked and thought better and went at full speed. I could see the hill ahead and there was absolutely no way he was doing 40 on that road (There are average cameras the full length).
The police who attended said they saw him driving like a total ■■■■ past them however as they were rushing to the accident they weren’t able to deal with him.
I’d love to show his boss the footage.
Does this sound like a regular visitor to Scotland?

Why don’t you put it on here. someone may i.d. him. ■■■■■■■■ to it being a grass, if some arse hole like that put me in a ditch, I would want him nicked, sod it.
Bad enough he put you in the ditch, but to realise he had, then just drive on …what a ■■■■ !
Hope they catch the ■■■■■■■ mate, we’ve all been late for ferries, but it’s no reason or excuse to drive like a Gareth Hunt.
Sounds like a fairytale to me. He didn’t put you in a ditch you put yourself in a ditch. You’re right about long shot…I mean the police seen him driving like a loony but didn’t even note his registration if they couldn’t stop sounds very plausible made up garbage.
Let’s see now. A white Scania, travelling in excess of the speed limit, running people off the road, 17.45 on a Friday evening heading for the boat. To me, that’s got all the hallmarks of paddy rushing home for the weekend.
If a Jock copper sees a dangerous driver there’s no way would he carry on to the accident scene and ignore it. There’s no shortage of police knocking about Stranraer police station so they’d have requested someone else stop him, no doubt whatsoever. Plus driving into Stena has tons of high quality cameras giving the clearest pictures you could think off, with pictures of every driver doing the booking in. It would take them less than 5 minutes to narrow down the correct truck, compare it to the one they ‘apparantly saw’ and to the truck seen in your camera footage. They’d instantly have the reg, company and driver details plus a clear photo showing the driver in the truck.
You ditched the truck at 5.45pm and the boat leaves at 7.30pm. Plenty of time to secure the accident scene, assess what happened and ask the Stranraer boys to head to the harbour. There’s always plenty of Police knocking about the harbour anyway so it’s not as if they didn’t have the resources. He took a boat to Northern Ireland, he didn’t flea to Brazil where there’s no extradition treaty. Even if they did miss him the Police in Belfast would have no problems stopping the truck coming off the boat if the Jocks asked, which they would do for a dangerous driving offence. Failing that, as soon as any boat leaves Northern Ireland the Jocks have the full vehicle and passenger list so they can stop him coming off the boat when he returns.
Asking on a forum if anyone knows a plain truck is just ■■■■■■■ in the wind so there has to be a lot more to this than originally posted.

The a75 is a 50 mph zone now for trucks busted the troll
It wasn’t Friday morning when I came down in from Dumfries, as the bloke in the rawlings merc who came hoofing past me on the dual carriage way bit then later on was having tea and biscuits with plod in the lay by with the fone box in
Just curious but on that stretch of road it must be common for the odd trucker to be in a rush and dare I say perform an overtake most would consider foolhardy. So why not just brake and remove the risk of an early cut in and ditching shenanigans.
Pussylike maybe but im a little vunerable once their cabs past so let em in.
I did have an incident with a fellow damsel the other week when another trucker undertook me on the hardshoulder on the M6 when the smart motorway wasnt active. To cut a long story short he went for it I accelerated till we had passed a few cameras then I braked to let him on both horns blazing, coffee beans exchanged and dashcam footage deleted.
The point of my story is deal with it roadside dont squeal on the internet like a big girls blouse, although the plobbers have lots of cameras so ill call BS on the OP.

I’m sorry I ■■■■■■■ asked if this is the type of advice you dish out. I slammed the anchors on and naturally pulled to the left. The ■■■■■■ drivers side of the cab dictates that he put me into the ditch.
The call handler I spoke to said the police at the port were ‘not the same’ whatever that means. The cops came from Stranraer so I’m guessing there weren’t enough available.
In the ■■■■■■■ rain, you’ve got blue lights on, another vehicle coming toward you with head lights on, winding road, pitch black and quite possibly on a bend (other wise he’d see them and slow down) is ever so easy to catch an oncoming vehicles registration, isn’t it Inspector Poirot.

I did brake, but he over took on double whites and on a right hand bend. His trailer was 3/4 of the way along when he hit me. Without a doubt he knew he made contact.

My understanding is that by the time someone was free the boat had already boarded. The guy at the first check point remembers the driver apparently but I know nothing more it’s up to the gaffers to sort out. I’m just so angry that a fellow ‘comrade’ would do something like this.
