I look forward to my letter, if they tell me that I can stuff the DCPC I might do an urgent load of Christmas trees to ASDA to keep the country going.

I wonder if some of use might get two letters. The second one for category H licence holders to sort out the queues at the petrol stations. 
The signature from the RHA made me want to gip. How they have the audacity to put their name and signature to this whilst they’ve been one of the biggest supporters of cheap eastern european labour and still campaigning the government to allow it to continue which was one of the main drivers for British drivers quitting I don’t know.

Because it takes one person one hour to organise a mailshot to a million people.

To add, the letter has the RHA logo on it.

I have one as well, I am 68 years young, how desperate are they?
So they have just done a spam mailshot to everyone with the categories on their licence. Goes with rest of junk mail, wouldn’t even use it to wipe by arse on.

Why don’t they take the opportunity now that we are out of the Eu and not restricted by their Victorian times regulations to sort out unfair working hours we are expected to do!

I was thinking I might not get one of these letters, as my licence had already expired, and DVLA might be effecient enough to strike me off the “HGV Licence Holders” list…
But no. Mine duly arrived this morning, luv-bomb in the bomb bay…
What would it take to get those with current licences that have NEVER held a DCPC card though?
…Free DCPC course perhaps? (No mention of a freebie 35 hours courses in the letter… Missed opportunity there?)
…A change in national legislation to favour key workers to pay a permanent lower PAYE rate?
How’s abouts that then for a good idea, guys and girls?
A side effect here would be to encourage all remaining self-employed drivers to get themselves into a PAYE job asap, because you don’t pay the lower rate of tax except via PAYE…
Meanwhile, back in the real world - increasing numbers of yards are now using section 88 on a “Block book” basis to get their expired-licences (myself included) back to work.
This “temporary arrangement” - risks sidelining the DVLA forever - if they don’t pull their finger out, and realize that their current stance of strike action is “part of the problem instead of part of the solution…”

You mean the same max EU hours regs that Boris has signed up to but a bit more often as an emergency measure.
Ok send me my letter it’s obviously an emergency so they can ditch the DCPC and the medical and the tacho card and allow a rigid to pull a 45ft trailer just don’t expect any ‘other duties’ attached.
I won’t hold my breath waiting.
