A. K. Worthington - Manchester Trafford Park

Does anyone have any previous experience with them? Or any information on them?

I’ve been invited down for an interview on Friday, was just after a heads up.

Got an interview with my work (Iceland) on the 26th too regarding their warehouse to wheels programme. Its like waiting for a bus, nothing for ages and then 2 come at once :open_mouth:

Zero tolerance alcohol policy, wages aren’t great, get back off your run and uve tip your truck before u leave Can’t think of owt else

I’ll ask again, wtf is warehouse to wheels?

a scheme where they take staff from the warehouse and put them onto driving, at a guess

Multi drop’s and multi pickup’s…?
And loads of them…?

Correct

I’ve applied for a class 1 night driver. The advert said £9 p/hr (£8 p/hr days). Will see what they say on Friday.

Looking at their website, I’d guess that the night job could be Palletforce trunking?

I’ll glady do that lol. seems to be a decent enough outfit from their website. Couldnt find the entrance to the place on google street view for a closer look.

doesn’t look like it would be that hard to miss!

although, looking closer, that pic may be a dodgy photoshop!

I worked for them on the Agency about 3 years ago, and a worse firm you couldn’t wish to work for. Drivers treated like s h i t.
We were paid the hours we worked, no 8 hr guarantee, so in the end they were giving us 3 hrs work, then sending us home. Agency got rid of them after a while as they weren’t paying the bill, using the excuse that they hadn’t got the tacho’s off the drivers, even though they had copied them at the end of every shift. When you get in at the end of the shift, your vehicle to be unloaded, then drop your trailer, and fuel up.Any spilt pallets, you have to strip down and re-pack, no help.
They are always advertising in the M.E.N, Class 1 at £7.50 ph, overtime rate isn’t much more.I wouldn’t recommend them at all.

Totally contradicts why the website says. £7 odd an hour is for class 2. Also says on the website guaranteed hours and overtime available. This is direct with the company, no agency. Maybe things have changed. Time will tell!

That’s Bond 26, one of their warehouses, main office is other side of the roundabout where the photo was taken from, although I am sure the redlines have been added in.

Yep that’s right the entrance is via Westbrook trading estate service road, follow to the end turn left sliding gate straight in front , then the pain will begin !
Seriously tho, I know some of there guys on tramping and they’ve upped there game, lots new units and trailers . So going in the right direction , I have heard its a tough place for the agencies tho …

stay away,you have been warned.

Treat drivers like ■■■■
you have to unload your truck when you get back no matter what time it is.

Tarrman
Noticed you have only just passed your test a short time ago :grimacing: !!
This is the sort of firm you will have to work for to get the exp you need to get you going?
We all have to start somewhere and this will be ideal, till you cant take it anymore??
It will either make or break you.
