A Few V8 530s

Time to bring this one back to life again after all these years.

Mr tasker now owns a very nice looking R560, which can be seen here:

Gotta say that is the sweetest looking scania I’ve seen in a long time.

The only thing I’m not to sure of is the short air kit but I guess it allows a bit more width on the tool boxes. I’ve seen these on Tasker/Parris motors before and thought they were a great idea. Proper storage for all your kit and you don’t loose it all if your swapping trailers about.

Spain, 144 460, not as many about as the 530’s

Ulceby today.

followed one of hudsons scanias with shameless on the back of the cab. i turned the radio off just to listen to the noise

Where my dad works now is a shared yard between 2 people, they both run left hand drive(as most of their work takes them abroad for HC Wilson whos yard is next door over the fence). I went to the yard at weekend and while there took a few pics of the Scanias in the yard, there were around 4 or 5 motors that werent there when i turned up ( weekended abroad apparently). Pics taken with camera phone.

The black scania have funny number plates

I love those snow chains!!!

Good pics, Kindle.

These guys love their V8’s no doubt about it. Parris’ also have another dark red scania with stainless side pipes which makes a lovely noise!

What is the country of registration for Mike’s vehicles? I thought they used to be dutch reg’d as they spend a lot of time there?

they look like they are irish reg but with dutch ‘style’ pressed plates, it has always confused me when i have seen them about

Yes they are indeed Northern Irish plates on the units! The plates themselves look very like the old ROI plates that can still be seen today though very rare!

Kev

Kindle,

One other thing, did you happen to peer over the fence and see one of these?

:sunglasses:

Now THAT’S what I call a V8 Scania!!!

I think those Parris motors are both from the gloucesershire area origanally.

The burgandy coloured one is ex Peter Gilder while the green/orange/white one is ex Charles Russell.

Around 5 years ago when I was pulling boxes out of southampton I did a regular job for a while taking flat racks with army boats on to a place up near the medway. They had to go on step frame trailers because of the height and quite often the other lorry was a dark red scania belonging to M.W.Tasker.

I can’t remember the drivers name but I asked why the left ■■■■■■ and he said they used to run over the water but work was quiet hence doing the boxes.

Yes, the dark red one with the side-pipes was Mike Tasker’s originally and got sold on to his neighbour. Both firms do the bulk of their work for Wilsons, as Kindle says, and spend a good deal of their time abroad - they specialise in anything that won’t fit in a std container.

I cant see a dark red one with sidepipes, i can see one with stacks thou! Dont think Tasker ever owned it thou, not 100% sure, as every truck he buys he paints black, will ask me dad at weekend, as thats his motor,
Yep euromat, you are spot on about the number plates!
Ive got a couple of pics of the black 4 wheeler with the sidepipes corcheela, and that makes a lovely noise as its got the roar valve fitted which when switched on (by a switch in the dash)by passes the silencer, pure V8
Yes neilf you are correct about the Gloucestershire connection, they only buy from people with a good reputation for looking after their motors (servicing etc)
Will download the pics of 4 wheeler in a bit.

PS corcheela, didnt see the new trucks at Wilsons, but have been told about them, apparently they do a lot of the conversion work themselves as it saves £1000s and £1000s to do, and the blokes in workshop have done quite a lot of them in the past.

Here you go, heres the 4 wheeler, this was Taskers at one stage, hence the black paintwork. The owner of it now has had the top bunk moved from the front to the back of the cab allowing for huge lockers to be fitted to the front where the bed used to be, also a roof mounted cab cooler has been fitted, along with the sidepipes and rear bumper.

Sorry, the one I was referring to wasn’t in any of the pics. I saw it while queueing at huntingdon for the a14 junction - it was the same colour (burgundy) as the one in the pics but I think it was a 4 wheeler with side pipes.

Of course, it could be the black one you posted up, maybe it’s been resprayed!
