Don’t be like one of dose alco spunkers, hangin’ around de early house in Moore Street. In de mornin’ on wit de shirt and de geansai, den de Louis Copeland tin o’ fruit, and don’t forget to wash de back o’ yer Gregory peck as owld Mr Fortycoats used to say.

Ah poor owld Dr Bill, eh?

A lot of people here just cant take it, what I mean is the bottom line the job is ■■■■■ the work is ■■■■■ a lot of the time the wages is ■■■■■ with a lot of people, but you keep on knocking me for telling how it is
Why would you do that well maybe if you look at this I don’t think I got it over before right?

I love quotes like this he’s done tramping before but he’s home now so he’s only away 4 or 5 nights a week at home and it’s not tramping. What a ■■■■■■■ thick this guy is welcome to the dunce’s corner of trucking in the UK. He is doing it and he dose not know he is I rest my case. you have not got a hope. please tell it how it is.

Here are the facts for your 20 pounds a week

You’re working over 100 hours a week tramping in UK
Doing three times a week work of a normal person
■■■■■■■ on the side of the road (if not paying for parking)
■■■■■■■ on the side of the road (if not paying for parking)
Sleeping in a truck and minding the load
Making your own food
Missing your family that’s if you have no choice
God gives you choices, and this is not one to make for a person who wants a half normal life
It’s a life of loners and sad people some have no choice others are the sad people
There are more sad people in this game who think it’s great but don’t know anything else
Beware.

What a ■■■■!!

If all work was meant to be fun they wouldn’t pay you for it. Right ?
A jobs a job, people like driving and being on the road

Nightline - would you care to enlighten me & everyone else what facts you have to base your comments on?? Why have you mentioned 100 hrs a wk & £20 a wk?? I work a max of 60hrs as the law states.

I sense your very bitter about something & have decided to have a go at those who are happier than you & enjoying life & being rewarded very well for it.

Maybe you could share with us exactly what your working day is like, I think we could all begin to understand why your so emotionally upset.

He is speaking the truth.I know the Eastern European drivers are now earning more than UK drivers.A Dutch firm that hires Romanian drivers to do UK work is earning more.UK drivers have never stuck together.
We all moan about new rules and laws but do nothing about it.
The French drivers on many occassions ground their country to a halt.
A truckers protest in the Uk is a weak and feeble attempt as the government bring in a law under the cloak of the anti terrorism act if trucks block roads.
This guy is right. Our bosses are laughing all the way to the bank while we are guarding his load for free while he has a.nice house or four and a fleet of luxury cars.

Somebody give this bloke a piece of rope so he can end his misery!!

Do you not think he may be right, I have seen jobs now saying you will work Monday to Saturday and just have 45 hours off that means being away for up to 123 hours per week now I know you are all on £15 per hour so do ok but what about drivers on £8 or less per hour. If you have 11 hours of every night 5 nights per week for £20 a night that’s 55p per hour now I know you are not working but you are also not free to do as you please you cannot even go to the toilet would that be allowed in jail. Now back to working hours there would be 68 at £8 that would be £544 if paid for breaks, is that enough to give your life up for. Would your boss live in a tin box with no toilets, washing facilities or food if not why should you.

A driver’s life

Been here before nothing ever changes, lets look at the night guys who stay out for the week and sleep in the cab all week, tramping they call it, what I call it is cheap labour, please call it what it is cheap labour is what it is. Now people who do this kind of work don’t do it for the 20 pound a night out money (or do they) god help them if they do and on top of that some company’s wont pay for parking.

People who do this either don’t like there kids or don’t like there wife or don’t like there parents or don’t like them selfs, whoever they live with maybe they hate them self’s. Lets get real here they must be working for 3.50 a hour or less, what a very very sad life they live missing out on so much.

For less than 3.50 give me the knife. Tell it how it is.

If you do it in Europe that’s a big adventure and you get something out of it, it’s called experience but to do it in your own country for 20 pounds a night it’s a sad state of affair’s for the people who do it five nights a week or four no wonder the job is [zb] up when you have people doing this for peanuts.

Some people live a very very sad life to make a small living, just telling it how it is when some one trys to do this every one seems not to have an opinion to tell the truth or get very defensive

The Taliban would be so proud of you keep up the good work they probably work less and earn more that you. Ps I know they do.

And before you go on about it’s a job, if the people who employ you can’t afford to pay a living wage then they should not be in business.
And I am a truck driver, I just don’t go along with all the sweetness that s on here please tell it how it is.

It’s a [zb] of a job with no life and no backup from you own kind, so you will always be working in this business for min wage long hours and little pay welcome to the glorified truckers net, its a [zb] job.

I’m not one for rising to this but what a total gimp !!!

jase:
Somebody give this bloke a piece of rope so he can end his misery!!

Give me the rope and i will do it…for us !

Put the bike on the back and go for a ride, see the scenery , talk to the locals, walk along the canal towpaths if any nearby, go to the cinema or a gym if you like that sort of thing, chat up the local doris if thats your hobby.
Life exists outside the cab doors when the keys are turned off. You just have to look for it and plan a bit. Its like a mini getaway break every day, and I used to take the missus quite often especially on a europe run as she was a good second driver.
