All our clients are aware our drivers only do 50mph on the motorway and are happy for them to do so as it saves on fuel and keeps the drivers relaxed reducing driver fatiuge and incidents. We dont all want to drive around like nutters all day
Since when has 90kph on a motorway been “driving around like a nutter” ?
Why do you think 90kph was picked as the limited speed for European trucks ?
Dunno about driver fatigue, but I get damned bored pottering along in a supermarket wagon being overtaken as if standing still by everyone else… Boredom is a big cause of falling asleep is it not?

BENEFITS-FRAUD COUPLE AVOID JAIL ‘BY A WHISKER’
10:30 - 09 June 2008
A couple involved in a £15,000 benefit fraud were told they had come “within a whisker” of going to jail.
Mum of five Kathleen Newton (46) admitted fraudulently claiming benefit as a single parent while living with partner Christopher Roe, who was in work.
Roe (48), an HGV driver and instructor, admitted a newly introduced offence of allowing Newton to fail to notify the authorities of a change in her personal circumstances, between January 2004 and October 2005.
At Leicester Crown Court, they each received a 16-week jail sentence suspended for 12 months, as well as a one-year community order.
Both were ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work and pay £175 costs.
Warning the pair they had narrowly avoided jail, judge Simon Hammond said: “People who indulge in benefit fraud are cheats and are to be despised for that.”
John Snell, prosecuting, said surveillance was carried out at the couple’s address in Thornton Close, Braunstone, after a tip-off.
Inquires revealed Roe had given the address as his home in financial and employment documents.
When quizzed, the pair claimed Roe had only lived at Newton’s address for a month.
Mr Snell said the amount falsely claimed was £15,423 and the couple had known each other since 1994.
They had two children together, born in the 1990s.
At the time of the offences, Newton was claiming to be a single parent living alone with three of her five children.
Andrew Conboy, defending Newton, said the application for benefit began as a valid claim, but she failed to notify a change in her situation because of the unstable relationship with Roe.
He said, since 2006, they were both helping to run a family business.
Jagvir Sangherra, defending Roe, said: "He was coming and going from the address of Miss Newton and was living there towards the end of the investigation.
“He accepts full responsibility for his wrongdoing.”
WTF has benefit fraud got to do with mickey mouse outfits out there trying to con people?

I’m guessing it’s because it is the same people/company involved. I didn’t realise they’d offered the same sort of thing 4 years ago…

Simple this is the guy that is offering these jobs once you have had training. Can you trust him?
Got same Email as Blunder Man with some Forms to download amnd send back.
Well,they didn’t askfor any money
The money gets asked for when you’ve committed to the wasted journey and time!
Oh dear! I came across alert profesional a few months back and was also duped into signing up. I wish id read this first! It would seem that the signing contracts and meetings stories havnt changed since the last post back in 2008. I guess its 70 odd quid i won’t be seeing again or even have the chance to earn back. There was promise of a big contract with the carlisle based company with the green trucks, working from crick. After 2 days of being told what i already knew (at my own expense) I’ve still not had a days work or so much as a call from these so called profesionals. I rang the afore mentioned haulier and was told that alert profesional had nothing to do with them and that i was one of many to have asked the same question! After reading previous posts it sent alarm bells ringing and and it all seems to fit into place. These guys are just out to line there own pockets at the expense of desperate drivers who cant afford it in the first place. I feel sick to my stomach, they’ll still be telling the same stories next year!
I’d better repeat myself in the next thread as well then…
It is so easy to come onto these sites and slag other people or companies off. I have noticed that none of you are willing to leave your names, and very few of you are willing to tell us where you live. That just proves to us that you lot are a bunch of cowards to hide behind some USER name.
My name is John Craib, Senior Team Leader at Alert Professional. I have seen the hard work, meetings, frustration and sleepless nights Chris Roe has put into this venture. He is working bloody hard to ensure drivers are treated like Professionals as they should be, and all we get is you lot ■■■■■■■■ about it. If you want this then support us, don’t back stab us.
We WILL have work nationwide, including domestic/international tramping, days, nights, weekends. On the International side of things, we have been approached by some large companies to ask if we can supply ADR tanker drivers, International drivers for upto 3 weeks tramping, and various other postions. On the Uk side, we are in conversations with several large companies for all classes of HGV drivers for all types of work.
Paying for agency work, wasn’t that the give away
It’s not easy to trust someone who turns up out of the blue, starts yet another well-typed post that appears to ever be their first (multiple IDs) but is scant on personal details like where you actually live & your geographic home phone number. If someone Emailed me with a vacancy for Stobarts for example, then I’d want to be visiting them at their own premesis to add weight to the idea that this is THEM rather than a middleman dealing with the apparent “vacancy”.
It’s jobs that are wanted rather than training to get jobs that don’t exist. Imply there is a job for those that pass this course that cannot actually be failed, and we’ve entered the realms of misleading bullcrap, also known as a “legal con”.
Where I go to work, they would be expected to know these details of myself, so why not the other way around, bearing in mind you are apparently promising jobs for a financial outlay?
If there’s no guarantee, then there’s no incentive to do this with your firm.
I’ve been online over 25 years now, and I’ve seen a lot of cons in that time, and get to discover new ones every week on top of that. Empty promises are perhaps the worst kind of “con” in that the perpetrator never gets brought to book, so the scamming continues. Yes, it could be argued that promises are ten-a-penny, and are made to be broken, but anyone paying for a service that includes the big carrot of REGULAR WORK will feel that THIS is what they are interested in paying for and NOTHING ELSE about whatever is included in the “sale deal”.
Another example of this kind of “con” is an ■■■■■■ Agency who states that “No ■■■■■■ services will be provided for money” thus getting around prostitution laws. Trouble is, if the girl turns up at the clients and decides “No thanks” then there’s nothing the client can do to get their money back already spent in advance - because ■■■■■■ services were not what was promised - only implied. If you were the girl attempting to sign up with an esccort agency, you would not be asked to sleep with clients to earn your pay, as this would be illegal. You’d soon be shown the door if you didn’t put out as required however! There’s no actual job there of “accompanying the client to a fancy social event” - you get paid for ■■■■■■ services but for all the pretence! In all, both the client and the ■■■■■■ girl stand to be ripped off by the agency who’ll shield behind the law when it suits them (no refunds for a non-event) and break the law when it suits them as well (no pay whenever they feel not enough was laid on verbally of the implied services to the client).
Misleading statements,Outright Lies, Broken Promises, No Comeback if the customer is less than satisfied. = Con.
Not getting what you thought you paid for = Con.
Paying money and getting poor service that cannot be rectified = Con.
When someone on here sings the praises of another firm and they’ve got 1000’s of posts to their name representing a major player in this community - we’ll take them more seriously than anyone here is going to take you. End of.
I’m not slagging anyone off or being cowardly in any way. The concept that alert professional promotes is excellent and when I spoke to Chris roe I found him to be a highly experienced guy with a real passion to succeed. This however does not stop me feeling cheated out of 2 days that I could have worked and the cost of the ocrs, which I didn’t need. Where is this work, when will it happen and what’s the chance of the guys that have been to you, ever working?

Well James Here is the response I received from The Stobbart Group Regarding your claims at the course I attended.
Maybe this will answer your question Gordon, here is an email I sent to Stobart and the response from the Training Manager and Recruitment Team.
Dear Sirs,
I have just completed a 2 day OCRS course for credit towards my CPC.
The course was run by Mr Chris Roe, Alert Driver Training of Leicester, it was done through my agency ADS Kilmarnock.
He claims to have secured major work from yourselves and was offering us full time work through his Company.
Formula One core team drivers and support…for the formula 1 race team
Night shift
Day Shift
Tramping
International Tramping.
I am very suspicious of these claims as I know the formula one position is a specialised area and you wouldn’t put an agency driver
on this type of operation.
He said he had further contracts with Fowler Welch and .norbert-dentressangle. I know this to be rubbish.
It beggars belief that he expects drivers to take this in but he has also conned the agency I work for into signing up to supplying
second tier drivers to this fictional scheme.
Apparently the contracts will be signed tomorrow !
Can you confirm or deny that you have positions available , in this realm either with this Company or outwith.
Regards
Good Afternoon
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately we don’t work with this person and if we have any vacancy available we always advertise on our website.
Kind Regards
Thank you for your email.
We recruit all our drivers directly and do not use any third parties or contract to any outside sources for any full-time positions. I hope this answers your question.
Kind regards
Zoe

I would rather trust somebody who has the balls to put a name to a post.
Alert Professional (LGV) Training & Recruitment has been registered since 2006. Look at our website and make up your own mind, It’s very easy to follow a crowd.
As for the ■■■■■■ Agency comment, well I assume you have some experience in that field so therefore I can’t make a comment as I have no experience with them.
As to making promises, we only make them when we know we can deliver them. All those who have attended our OCRS course have been made aware that we are in the final stages of contract agreements. Those who have attended were told that they will be the 1st to be offered the jobs when they become available. The contracts do state that they want all drivers OCRS compliant. Keep reading the papers sunshine.
I don’t know who you are, where you are or what you are, so why I’m wasting my time in replying is beyond me.
How anybody can trust someone who remains anonymous is very confusing. Would you trust a bank with your money if they refused to give you their details. Our details are online alertlgvtraining.com.
Jacobite your a tool, good bye
Well ‘jacobite’ I’m not afraid of using my real name, unlike yourself , but what I am curious about is how long it takes you to train a qualified LGV Driver upto the required OCRS compliance standard and what KPI do you use to measure that
