Make perfect sense to me :unamused: What hes saying is you live there & must use their services that local peoples tax money helps to pay for but you yourself don’t pay taxes so therefor your not contributing!!

OR, if you feel you ARE contributing, then so is Orys and all other legal migrant workers in the UK. It does seem to make sense to me too…

It seems there are a few people on here with “special needs” so i’ll say it once more.

I pay for my local rates (community charge) which pay for local services to the town hall for 12 months of the year, even though i am only there for 3. If someone offered me 12 months wages for 3 months work that would look like a pretty good deal to me.

If the cap fits, wear it brother. I haven’t insulted you, yet you feel the need to isult me and others simply because we don’t agree with you. :unamused: Enjoy your life…

It aint even worth trying to explain anything to ex haulier as it doesnt seem like hes willing to listen to anyone elses point of view on this subject. I for one understand what orys is saying about the reasons for moving being very similar. It aint rocket science is it. Some people just dont get it :unamused: :unamused:

It kind of sounds like you pay rates as you put it like we pay our council tax which contributes to local services but your not contributing by working & paying tax etc etc. You may pay it for the yr but you still dont pay anything near as much as the locals do. They must pay rates aswell as pay tax on their earnings etc etc.

Perfect example of what i said about turkeys voting for christmas. My presence in Spain for 3 months of the year hasn’t driven down the locals wage rates by 20% or more in the last 5 years.

Orys, you write some good s hit, nice one. BTW, your written English is very good.

Sort of back on topic, FedEx pay around £9.32 P/H for a 54 hour week, get this, if you work over 54 hours, the O/T rate is just over £9.  WTF is that all about? I’ll tell ya, it’s to stop Drivers ‘milking the job’ and dragging it out.

If you took home £250 for that kind of work, wow, errrrrrr that’s bollox :imp: :imp:

All I know, I used to take home over 300 quid a week in 1992 for 5 nights away all included, what has happened, I am glad I got out of it, I would expect minimum for class 1 now, tramping should be at least 800/900 a month gross surely

I think your getting a bit confused. I live and work here, i pay taxes here so if i wanted to see a doctor here i can. I keep a house in Spain, if i take my car down there, there is no requirment to register it there if it’s only there for three months. I have private medical insurance that i have never needed to use and i go to the dentist in Spain which i pay for. I contribute in both countries, i sponge off no one.

So what do you expect■■?

Not everyone can land themselves with a great paying job so rather then sit on their ■■■ they take a lower paying job but that seems to be wrong too.

Lets think about it…

1, turn down job after job after job due to crap wages & claim dole money = wrong as i’d be a scrounger!!!
2, take lower paid job but get family tax credits to make my life easier = wrong as i’d be a parasite!!!
3, take lower paid job & no benefits & get into financial difficulty = I have no incentive to better myself!!!
4, Do nothing = waste of space
5. Live within my means and not have a £300k mortgage and 14 kids so that I won’t need other people to fund my lifestyle.

How about option 5 instead of blaming everything on everybody else? :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb:

Infact i live a very simple life. So i suggest you get your facts straight before you go judging people you dont know anything about you !!!

The rule is that you attack the post NOT the person. dd.

So if you have such a simple low-expenditure lifestyle, why the ■■■■ do you need everyone else to subsidise you via tax credits? The point still stands : live within your means instead of leeching off every other ■■■■■■.

Hooray, at last some common sense !.

I hear that Stobart shift men at Tesco Goole are at this lark aswell! Doing what Tesco lads were doing at Middlewich- 9 hour shifts and go home so they can claim some benefits! Just what some Trampers based there have said in conversations! Wonder if it’s any ex Tesco who Tuped over?

People are so dumb…if people were not meant to claim family tax credits then they wouldn’t exist in the first place. I dont make the rules the government do so why dont you stop moaning at me & complain to the government instead. Anyone on this forum who has kids gets child benefit but i suppose thats ok or did you not think of that one. Are you saying everyone who gets child benefit is a leech■■?
