£120 OTS fine today

Wheel Nut:

Was handed a £120 fine and told if I am caught again, face the consequences.

What does that mean?

I asked this one earlier because a £120 fine is of consequence. I think you have made a serious mistake by admitting it, and your boss has made a serious mistake in paying it. The copper is talking out of his constables arse when he says the only alternative route is via Hexham :open_mouth:

if there is a sign with access for loading unloading you cant be done for it

A few years ago I was delivering to Howden,( first time) saw a sign towards Howden 7.5 except for loading, went on a couple of miles or so and stopped to ask directions, it turned out that if I had not turned I would have got to where I was going on by pass, Police car pulls up behind, copper jumps out, I thought to help :unamused: I explained it was my first time here and I followed the sign to where I thought it was, he starts to write out a ticket saying that this was the wrong road to the site so I should have gone other way.
Anyway I was advised to write to his boss with a copy of ticket explaining the situation, I did and got a reply saying no further action would be taken :sunglasses:

they police are a pain as they all seem to be quick in getting ticket book out but ain’t got any idea on what they are doing, I got stopped for being down a single track village with a artic bulk tipper copper had ticket book out ready unfornately he was shot down in flames when told i was delivering to the pig farmer just round corner, Its great being smug with them   . Like rest have said i would have contested it and just seen what they would have done.

Okey-Didley-Dokely:
makes you laugh doesn’t it, with all this economic driving [zb], we must use less fuel as the world is running out and the price of fuel rising on a dailly basis, we still have to go 80 miles further because some nimby council doesn’t want trucks to go through a village that is perfectly suitable for a truck.
over 80% of transported goods go by road, when are the idiots that run this country that road transport is not just neccesary, it is essential and needs promoting not villifying

Also, bloody traffic lights at night! How much fuel is burnt stopping and starting for no bloody reason (Heathrow Freight Terminal roundabout is a prime example)

Oh, and whilst we’re on about roundabouts, every new industrial area is down a road with 50 roundabouts for no bloody reason, just to slow us down I guess, but again, waste of soo much fuel
