I agree there has to be a point when enough is enough but with these laws in the two scenarios I’ve mentioned enough is only enough sometimes and not consistent through out the board. They obviously haven’t thought about it enough.

The problem is though that driving is such a varied job that whatever change you make to make your examples more sensible will no doubt introduce other examples that seem just as ridiculous. You simply can’t write a set of rules that make sense in every scenario.

So we just have to deal with them as they are.

I disagree with Rog, green456 and grumpybum on this one.

So what your saying is if I drive 4.5 hours to a delivery, I have to take a break before I even undo my curtains and do any other work.

But if I drive for 4.29 I can then do other work for 1 hour 31 minutes before I need a break for WTD.

I’m sorry but you only need a break after 4.5 hours driving if you intend to carry on driving.

They are correct though, it literally is THAT daft… 4hrs 30 and you MUST take a break or begin your daily rest period.

If you’ve drove back to the yard bang on 4hrs 30, you can’t even do your paperwork or debrief without a 45min break - BUT, who’s going to know… Eject card, do what you want and bugger off home.

But if you do 4hrs 30 on the nose and get to a customer, DO NOT record other work, you will get an infringement.

What a load of ■■■■.
