But so far, all it is…“we dont like what youre saying, so shut up”,

It’s the decision and opinion of the majority mate, you’ll just have to accept it, if you don’t like it tough ■■■■■■■ …, you should know that is how things work. :bulb:
Oh hang on a minute.

Yesterday I let you off the hook. You have already said you don`t know the history of past lies, so have no legs to stand on .

:open_mouth: Ok thanks for errr… ‘Letting me of the hook’’ mate, I’m indebted to you… I think.
You’ve finally worn me down, you win, I’m beaten.
So can we finally put all this Brexit stuff to bed at last…PLEASE
Yes■■?
Well Thank Christ for that on behalf of all Trucknet posters .

Now, let’s see if we can make a deal…do a double on Covid.?

Think of it as a public good by you.
So long as I tap away here, a poor long suffering barmaid somewhere doesnt have to pretend to be interested in my drunken ramblings. COVID? You show me your doctorate, and Ill show you mine?

So are you saying Brexit is also the subject of your chat up lines ■■ :open_mouth:
Do you have much luck with that by any chance ?
Are you still single?

How did you guess?
Some-one as handsome and personable as myself? Who could have guessed?

Grumpy_old_trucker:
It’s obvious from your tedious ramblings that you are not only a remoaner but I’d take it even further, you appear to have a dislike of Great Britain and all it stands for.
May I suggest you ■■■■ off and join a French truckers forum, you ain’t wanted on here.
Many years ago like you were lined up against a wall.

Attack the post by all means, but do NOT attack the person.

Apologies for the delay in replying to you.
Yes, once upon a time some brave souls* who spoke their minds were shot or beheaded. Be it Medieval England, ■■■■ Germany, Communist Russia or China, you are correct. Personally Im pleased it isnt so here and today.

*NO, not me. I know I live (in spite of what you clearly wish) in a free society, where free speech is without penalty. I hope this country remains so in spite of people like you who seem to have zero tolerance of others points of view. If you want a country where only one point of view is allowed expression, why dont you try it out somewhere else?
Don`t try to change the UK to suit your particular point of view.

7,500 jobs and a trillion already left London.

€1trillion is a single day’s Euro trade clearing. 7500 jobs is fewer jobs than have been added to the City over the last year.

Finance jobs stayed in London after Brexit vote

Exclusive: FT survey of banks and asset managers finds employment shift to EU is yet to happen

Brexit has failed to deliver a big hit to financial services employment in London, Financial Times research has shown, with international banks maintaining most of their staff since the vote to leave the EU and big asset managers hiring in the UK capital.

Initial warnings that tens of thousands of jobs would leave the City as a result of the 2016 Brexit vote have been drastically scaled back. An FT survey of 24 large international banks and asset managers found that the majority had increased their London headcount over the past five years.

…JPMorgan has kept its London headcount at about 11,000, while total UK staff numbers have grown about 2,000 to 18,000 as the bank hired in other locations including technology and operations hubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I’ll leave you to read the rest of the article and to see the graphs that show almost everyone has increased their headcount in the UK. Vanguard TRIPLED their UK staff numbers.

Are you not comparing apples and oranges? Are assets the same as daily trading figures?
Are you suggesting any increase in employment numbers is due to Brexit? Or that they wouldnt have been greater in its absence?
Well, I will fully accept that we are delving into the realms of conjecture to make a sound argument for either case there, but a company shrinking within the UK, but simultaneously expanding in the EU? IE transferring jobs, what of that?

Financial services industry likely to suffer? ■■■■■■■ hooray good riddance. Sit on their ■■■■■■■ arse literally gambling all day while fishermen really do risk their lives in their job. Bunch of crooks the lot of them. What’s the interest rate on your savings at the moment? Try working out how long it will take to get back the money you’ve paid into a pension at the rate they are prepared to pay it out. Madam Poash was ever so upset about the plebian fishermen daring to risk Tarquin’s income when speaking to Jewemy on Radio 2 a month or so ago

Give it a rest Franglais ffs we’re all fed up with your leftist Guardian swipes at what was a democratic referendum (which your side LOST), make the most of it, as The great Prophet Nigel himself said in a few years Europe will look back and say thank god for the British. You just wouldn’t believe how many Danes are envious of UK getting out of it. Where is the EU heading? Even further integration to become a single state? Do the people of Europe really want that? I reckon they don’t, so just accept what we’ve got and make the most of it, remember, most of us love Europe, just not the political giant the EU has become. Good night sir.

52% of the GBP voted to leave, so that’s that job done,. You can cry, post as much googled remoaner rubbish, but it isn’t going to change a thing… But thread after thread of your whining just makes people think your a bigger Muppet every time you post carp… so accept the loss and move on,…and get with the new world order…

Disappointed in you Bluey, you contributions are usually of a better calibre.

The vote was about 50/50 with winner takes all. As almost half the country preferred the way it was, please have some respect for them. The vote was only on Brexit, not Totalitarianism.

The result does not deny the loosing side their opinion or right to free and speech so probably best to remove the Jackboots when you spot a remainer as they have exactly the same rights to their opinion as you and the other handful hard men on here.

I don’t want to sound like the headmaster but the offensive language and reactions are way over the top and then the usual suspects mob are hopping on board.

As those same keyboard warriors frequently like to point out, they too have the right to ignore, not contribute or not even bother to read.

I know it is a subject that seems to really fire up otherwise reasonable men but they do not have the right to bully, throttle or abuse or has the country really come to that in the 11 months since Brexit actually occurred?

What are the Brexiteers so wound up about at this stage because you and I know Brexit actually took place on 31 January 2020, 11:00 pm GMT. :unamused:

So it is done, over, finished a long long time ago surprisingly without even a celebration at the time.

The current shenanigans are merely only a trade deal, yes a big one but still only a trade deal with a lot more trade deals yet to be done so why all the fuss?

Remain calm, as transition finishes in a few days and then it’s the promised land all the way.

Franglais:
Well, thanks to you all!
You could have posted some information showing:
The facts I`ve posted are wrong
That the benefits are more than the cost
That…well, it is up to you after all.

Your statement that we have a net trade surplus with the EU is not ‘fact’ it is a lie.A surplus in one economic sector doesn’t mean a net surplus.
The fact is we are net contributor for the privilege of being a net importer.
A market of 500 million that buys less from us than we buy from it.
A net contributor while inflicting austerity at home to pay for it.
You know like having to go running to the IMF for a bail out and still the EUSSR classed us as a net contributor.
Hopefully Bozo will tear up the bs ‘deal’.We didn’t vote for any deal which by definition means compromise.
We voted to leave the EU which means no more fish, no more cash and no more EU rule.
If the EU wants a trade war to punish us for secession then we just concentrate on hitting Germany with a total ban on German imports.
The ‘fact’ is Bozo is a weak quisling remainer.Just like the rest of his party since 1973.

Good, a headmaster should know the difference between the meaning of the word “lose” and “loose”!

If you think that a large proportion on leave voters are angry now, how angry will they be when we join the EU again?

Hurryup&wait:

There is definitely an air of snowflakery emerging on this forum recently…and the country. :bulb:
It’s got to the stage when somebody passionately disagrees with another members strong opinions on something, they are accused of ‘bullying’ :unamused: it’s pathetic.
The amount of stick I get on here, (bring it on btw,.a ■■■■ is not given) I’d be paying for counselling by now if I took that ridiculous attitude. :unamused:

And ‘Throttle and abuse’ ?..oooh the drama,
It’s supposed to be a forum for seasoned truckers, supposedly and stereotypically hard men,.I can not imagine Franglais sat cowering in a corner feeling bullied because every body on here is ‘‘Being mean to me’’. Boo hoo.

This Brexit should we/shouldn’t we thing has gone, it is dead in the water, we’ve moved on, I’m all for discussing the implications and effects, but it is always coming from a negative, ‘‘We lost, but wait and see,.I told you so’’ perspective, and it’s frankly getting ■■■■ seriously boring.

Ffs it has not even got off the ground yet,why not give it at least 12 months, see how it goes, and just think,…you have the added bonus of Covid issues hindering the success of it, :bulb: so you can all capitalise on it and fill yer boots with ‘We told you so s’’

Not bullying you btw, just disagreeing with your points of view…phew.

You might as well save your self the bother Rob , you can’t argue with stupid . They probably still blame the iceberg for the Titanic disaster .

Guardianistas are obviously choking on their Cuban free trade coffee as we wave sayonora to the bloated and corrupt Franco-German communist superstate. Their default state is venal, and so love the cronyism and corruption that is the EU.
The supply of free money in the form of subsidies that is milked from our taxes to pay off oligarch EU farmers equates to about 65billion euro per year.
Think about this when you are in Tesco and look at the same old fare, from the same old countries. The UK should be an independent trading nation. Any deal is a compromise, but the most important issue is to be free of the ever creeping influence of Brussels. Whose rules, because of our ways, we follow to the letter, and the continentals only when it suits them.

No Rob, not Christmas Snowflakery even.

I consider this place like a decent pub where we sit around the bar and have a bit of chat and we maintain a fairly respectful decorum not withstanding a bit of banter and a laugh hopefully as well.

If someone is acting the maggot a decent landlord will send them packing for the evening.

Franglais is clearly a very well read person unlike most of us here and he has contributed very intelligently to many of the conversations on here for years.

If he starts a thread on Brexit that doesn’t interest Brexiteers then just ignore it.

Funny how that clown snakey, rowley, tramp was well engaged by so many here for so long while taking the total ■■■■ out of you all and turning so many threads into absolute drivel yet someone decent is slammed because he like almost half the country is a remainer and continues to question political promises.

Like I say if its not to one’s taste or just tedious carry on by just as I and many others do all the time on many subjects like the way I dump the property, art and various other supplements of the Sunday newspaper in the bin outside the newsagents if I buy one.

Alternatively if the topic really does interest one, then participate but do not hurtle personal abuse, especially at a great contributor.

This is just one of the many personal and/or abusive attacks. Ugly triumphalism…well out of order and indefensible Rob. :frowning: :frowning:

You and Bluey are decent people and ye know where I am coming from but some of the others…well let’s just say I would not like to be stuck near them at the counter.

Now who’s round is it anyway■■?

Yep,.I get and agree with the pub analogy, but you will get the personal abuse from one or two in there also, it’s just the different personalities that make up the people in the pub,.or a forum,.that’s how it just goes.

On the subject of pubs/forums, I’m proud of the fact that I will not (and do not) say anything to anybody on here that I would not say to them in a pub,.anybody who knows me will verify that  ,…maybe one or two of the warriors should adapt that policy themselves. :bulb:
(After saying that I’ve been in a couple of scrapes in a couple of pubs in my life, maybe there a message in there somewhere. )

I notice you did not.address nor explain my point on your ‘bullying’ accusation which I still think is well ott.

This guy puts it in a nutshell, how boring and cringeworthy remoaners have become, .although I don’t think there are too many left wing intellectuals on here, it can also apply to one or two drivers.
