As a truck driver, I do not want to strike ANY vehicle, but it may well turn out that an overloaded and underpowered car may well itself be the cause of the collision, and the truck driver now either way has to live with the event.

I don’t think anyone really knows enough about what happened in this incident to say for sure yet…but if a truck ran into the back of a slow moving car, that’s still the truck’s fault imo. The overloading may have contributed to the outcome but who knows?

It’s not always the case I agree. In the absence of facts relating to this incident it’s all conjecture. I was just stating my personal opinion that if the truck ran into the back of a slow moving car given good road conditions and if the car was just travelling in lane, not doing anything untoward, etc then the truck is at fault. I didn’t clarify that in my previous post but am doing so now.
None of us know what happened here. The facts will be made available eventually. A tragic incident

Apart from someone brake testing a truck or someone unexpectedly pulling out, what other scenario do you have where the lorry driver is not at fault when he collides with a vehicle in front? you shouldn’t be going at a speed where you can’t see far enough to stop in time - yes there are times I would have the greatest of sympathy in a ’ there but by the grace of god go I moment’. But at the end of the day you should always be able to stop.
