First of all let me say i have no problem sitting behind a lorry doing 40, it’s the limit after all, but what gets me is when the road opens out to a short stretch of dual carriageway these drivers feel the need to boot it to 56 preventing other wagons from passing. If they were that intent on sticking to the limit surely they’d stick to 50. And of course as soon as the dual carriageway ends they’re back down to 40. It seems to me that some drivers are intent on keeping everybody behind them.

Absolutely SPOT ON !!!
I think its a power thing…I had a Roadways wagon the other week intent on holding me up on the A5…i was almost past him on the dual and he decided he was gonna speed up cause it was coming upto a single section again…if it was’nt for the tractor on the inside lane which made him have to back down,i would of had to sit behind the ■■■■ at 35 like he had been doing previously!!
my point has always been:if you’re gonna abide by the ‘Truck’ 40mph limit on single carriageways, abide by all the other ‘Truck’ speed limits.
