If they want us all to keep paying fuel and road tax they obviously wouldn’t be saying that they want us out of our cars and on bicycles and buses instead.
I think the idea of traffic light cameras, rather than using the same technology to hold the green light for close approaching traffic, before letting it change to amber, is a smoking gun.It’s all entrapment by stealth.
Have to say that the onboard speed limit information on modern cars is very useful technology for a change and often shows just how laughable many limits are and the deliberate lack of signage adding insult to injury.
It would be useful if speed limit signs were a few meters after junctions. They are often right on the junction. One more thing to observe when there is a lot going on anyway.
