26 weeks

Our business is pumping dirty water (or other stuff) our drivers sometimes drive less than an hour a day, though rarely do less than a 12 hour day, back in Feb we had a truck sat in the same spot for 11 days pumping sea water, on emergency works so no hours rules at all, the drivers worked whatever hours they wanted and phoned in when they wanted to sleep.
Their choice completely they could work 8, 12, 16 whichever they chose guess what, most chose 16

Well we have sorted the 48 hour rule out thanks for your help

We had extended the 26 week to the 52 week average period anyways but it turns out that due to some of our work being domestic hours and below 4 hours driving that day is out of the rules and all utilities emergency work is out as well so it’s only the grab wagon I need to worry about.

The drivers have just agreed a new collective agreement.
They will tell me their max hours they will work next month and I will not ask them to do any more than 10% extra than they have requested = sounds good to me
Lowest hours requested for September = the lowest was 60 hour week, 5 x 12,
another being 72,84,72,84 would be nice please boss (If I get that many hours can I auto book xmas eve off please)

Out of all this we have found that 3 drivers are willing to do 1/2 a shift Christmas day if needs be, that the tipper driver wants to do more work and 2 of them are ok with doing Sundays once or twice a month.

Hooray so its Sunday and I’m not working = someone else is
