2012 Volvo FH Series - Launches September 5th

when will we start seeing them on uk roads then?? and isit just FH models or FM aswell

It will be FH first, and then FM a few months afterwards, that’s what’s happened in the past anyway.

I must admit that ‘the rake’ didn’t cause me any problem, but I can see how it may do if you were out for weeks on end or were used to a big old ‘square Lego Block’ Daf SSC, for example.

boris:
Just doesn’t quite have the ‘wow’ factor what you’d expect from Volvo with a completely new cab imo

i well remember the wow factor when the FH launched in 93"WOW THIS HAS NO WHERE AS MUCH ROOM AS MY F12 GLOBEY""WOW THIS SEEMS MUCH LOUDER THAN MY F12"“WOW IT SURE HURTS WHEN I CRACK MY NOGGIN ON THE LOCKER DOORS”“WOW THE PLASTICS SEEM A BIT CHEAP”.T"was super reliable though in all fairness

dancompression:
Why is the rake unpopular?

Because you loose a third of your cab

If anyone’s interested in the launch tonight: fh.volvotrucks.com/global/index.html

This is what you will see tonight.

it looks AWFUL!

Maybe the interior will win me over.

I’ll wait till I see one on the road, as if its anything like the new Actros then I didn’t like pics, but looked much better in the flesh.

I’m not overly impressed to be honest, I can’t believed they’ve attached the mirrors to a pole  Volvo mirrors on the current FH series along with Scania look the dogs but every lorry that his mirrors attached to a simple pole just looks cheap.

One of the big complaints with the FH has been the blind spot caused be the mirrors, so maybe this is trying to answer that problem. Also the plastic arms can be completely wiped out by skip lorries coming the other way and taking up to much of the road. :imp: and they cost about £300 to replace.

shame im having to watch a load of swedish waffle to start with :unamused:

They do look easier to see through to be honest. …quite literally in fact, is that a spy-hole through the middle? Or a light?

Are you watching this ‘sometimes rather awkward’ web launch run-up?!

lol, was wondering if i was the only one left!

…cheating with that ‘how many people in a cab’ weren’t they?! Guess you’d need all those people to keep the winter blizzards off!

I’ve got a realy crap download rate, so can’t really watch it. But maybe the convertible is a new option for bosses to tight to spec Air Con… (I know it’s probably standard ) .

You’ve not missed much to be honest, although I wouldn’t have wanted to foot the bill!

surely a simple set of aluminium guards would fix that, not the point though obviously.

well to be fair im mixed on it    from the side and the back it looks good and impressive but the front wtf has happened with that    they have tried too hard to be 2013 and it looks like they had all all the bits in a giant catapult stood 300 yards and fired :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:

i bet the first i see painted up will be polish.
