Volvo are finally taking the sheets off of their new Volvo’s and the launch is on September the 5th. I can’t wait to see them personally if they’re anything like what was in the video of the girl doing the tightrope walk.
be good to get a proper look at it.
only ever had 1volvo on a regular basis, had a 57 plate for a while. didn’t like the stupid rake on the windscreen, but to this daystill my personal favorite truck to drive, and always liked the build quality. judging by the short glimpses you got inte tightrope video, looks like the rake has been sorted, the way the front of the cab went up reminded me abit of a big stralis.
be interested to see the interior layout.
I have thought about maybe speaking with a heavy Swedish accent like that full time
Im nursing a semi already.

not the only one.
Some stills from the video, will be better once we get some HQ sightings of it.
I watched this video sometime early last week i believe, and it seems to have done the trick for Volvo as it’s being played all over the place!
The thing that interested me most though is how much the new FH looks like the picture in THIS thread posted back in April! I, (as you may gather from my comment!) hated the poxy looking monsters, especially the extremely high grill/grill badge, and I failed to see that it would ever go into production looking like that. Although it seems that it has, high grill and all! Hopefully it’ll grow on me.
I’m just a little baffled at how Volvo (amongst all other manufacturers) spend so much effort disguising the cabs for ‘on-the-job’ testing and keeping the design quiet, yet someone managed to produce a model seemingly very similar to the finished article several months before it’s been unveiled?! Strange…
looks like the new actros in disgise in my opinion… just like the renault and the volvo fe…

Renault make the cabs for Daf. The reason the look similar is because they are the SAME cab.

they are all the same cab, just filled with different qualitys of design and trim.
Mercedes made a right move in the design of the new Actros, Volvo didn’t with this FH. Then again, looks ain’t everything in haulage!
Just doesn’t quite have the ‘wow’ factor what you’d expect from Volvo with a completely new cab imo

Just wait till its got the Stobart wrap, wowza!!!
(said with tongue firmly in cheek)
Certainly looks a lot better then i thought it would going by the wrapped ones people have seen around the UK in recent months
The design is growing on me as did the Actros, but the real thing is to see if they’ve built a good all round truck and maybe even moved the design and technology on.
Of course most truck will look pretty much the same now except for a few design tweaks, as they are constrained by function and legislation.
Having seen the video, they’ve now got independent front suspension.
The front screen certainly seems to be very upright, this was the main gripe over the years
Why is the rake unpopular?
i had 3 series 1 and 3 series 2, never had a problem with the windscreen rake tbh.
