I do not agree with the sentiment that as professional drivers you are there to set an example.

I’m sure in this case a few Traffic Commisioners may disagree with you!

Maybe not to set an example as such, granted, but a degree of professionalism should be displayed without you trying, or being aware you are doing so, and the fact that you are a professional, it should just come natural…
A better standard of driving by a professional over a guy who uses his car to go to work, should be taken for granted, unfortunately in a lot of cases it isn’t, that is why we are unpopular with a lot of other road users.

On that note do you think that the camera vehicle’s seperation distance to the car ahead was sufficient ?.Let alone not then backing off to increase it massively as soon as the overtaking truck’s intentions and it being baulked by the car ahead in lane 2 were clear from the start of the video. Also bearing in mind that only the camera vehicle could create the seperation distance required for both vehicles during/after the lane change at that point.

While the overtaking truck’s only other realistic option at that point was to back off in lane 2 and stay in lane ( which is what I would have done ) leaving the possibility/probability of the camera vehicle then undertaking thereby creating another hazard bearing in mind the likely results of the car in lane 1 slowing up ahead in that case.

All because the muppet driving the camera vehicle hadn’t taken account of the situation developing ahead regarding the cars in lanes 1 and 2 at least at the start of the video and probably before that. :unamused:
