Normally work Tuesday to Saturday, asked for Wednesday off this week and work today instead, and want to do the same next week.
Had 38 hours off before starting this morning and will have at least 24 hours off Wednesday, previous weekly rest was approx at least 68 hours of and am sure the one before that was the same, and will be having at least 68 hours weekly rest off after the 2nd reduced weekly rest, is this legal?
I have read on here you can do 2 reduced in a row depending on circumstances.

When was the last time you had at least 90 hours off which included sunday midnight
Since that time have you always had every sun + mon off

Last long weekly rest period was Easter weekend, off Friday 14th Saturday 15th Sunday 16th Monday 17th April, and worked Monday 24th April Rog.

Really, so simplify what Rog had kindly done for me that allows me to take back to back reduced weekly rest periods, because I don’t understand it mainly because I have had to utalise a combination like this in the last 29 years, and I am pretty sure that it has not always been this way.

Thanks Rog, if it means I can do 2 back to back reduced weekly rests, it has thank you kindly, I am pretty sure you couldn’t do this in the past, as I always thought you could only alternate with compensation for the reduced after you had done it.
And I am pretty sure what you have kindly done will baffle our transport manager.
I can’t forgive this post, simply because there are posters on here who get confused over daily rests.
The general way for most drivers to stay legal is to do alternative regular and reduced weekly rests but with knowledge of how they work can be advantageous sometimes

For weekly rest periods and the 45hr requirement it is worked out on fixed weeks which are 00:00 Monday to 24:00 Sunday.
As long as you have at least one continuous period of 45hrs off in two FIXED weeks then any weekly rest periods between those two can be reduced. You’re taking more weekly rests than you need to, effectively taking three weekly rest periods in two fixed weeks so you can do two reduced back to back.
Because there is nothing which says what order they have to be done in, as long as you have at least one full rest period in every 2 week period you can do one full, one short in the first 2 weeks then one short and one full in the next 2 weeks and you’ve met the rule because in each fortnightly period you’ve had one full rest period.

Thanks Conor, I sort of get it now, like I said I’m sure it never used to be like that, up until this week and next week which I need a day off I opted to work Monday which is normally a rest day instead of using holidays, it’s not something I have ever had to use before, just like double manning rules never have and never will be required to know them because it will never happen in my life time.
The only thing that has changed in 29 years that has affected me is the way driving breaks can be taken, oh and you have 144 hours to get all your shifts done but not had to stretch it that far yet either.

Every time you take at least 24 hours off in one go it resets the reduced daily rest rule so the answer is yes, all 5 shifts can be over 13 hours
