off Friday 14th Saturday 15th Sunday 16th Monday 17th April, and worked Monday 24th Apri
week 1 = 10/4 - 16/4 = regular using easter w/e off
week 2 = 17/4 - 23/4 = regular using easter w/e off
week 3 = 24/4 - 30/4 = reduced using sun 25 off
week 4 = 1/5 - 7/5 = regular using sun 30/4 + mon 1/5 off
week 5 = 8/5 - 14/5 = regular using sun 7/5 + mon 8/5 off
week 6 = 15/5 - 21/5 = reduced using sun 14/5 off BUT also wed 17/5 + sun 21/5 off SO 3 reduced for week 6 = all payback completed
week 7 = 22/5 - 28/5 = regular using sun 28/5 + mon 29/5 off BUT also has a reduced on wed 24/5
week 8 = 29/5 - 4/6 = regular using sun 4/6 + mon 5/6 off BUT this can be a reduced if you want to
week 1 has weekly rest at end of week
weeks 2 to 6 have weekly rests at start of those weeks
weeks 7 + 8 have weekly rests at end of those weeks
Extra reduced weekly rests are not counted as the weekly rest for any week and do not need compensating for
Has that answered your qyery
Looking at this again wide awake, the original question included taking a reduced before the week commencing the 22nd, so I can work Monday to Saturday again, can I do that, the weekend after would be a full + weekly rest period. Ta.
We all have different circumstances, but is reducing something the Boss is telling you to do or is it a case of living to work and not working to live.
If its the Boss then you need to move on.

I’m lost now haha, can I reduce again this weekend then?

Assuming that you always work days and not nights you can have a reduced weekly rest period this weekend but must start a regular weekly rest period no later than 23:59 Sunday 28/05/2017.
In other words, yes you can work next Monday.
edit:
I’ve just seen that you’re talking about working Monday to Saturday Next week which is fine, I’ve shown Wednesday of next week as a rest day but as long as there’s no more than 144 hours between starting work on Monday and finishing on Saturday it’s up to you whether you work Wednesday or not.

Cheers tachograph, so after taking the second reduced this weekend would the following weekend just need to be a regular weekly rest period, yesterday’s day off was 36 hours after working Monday and Tuesday and should think it will be the same on next weeks day off, thanks.
Personally I can’t see what the problem is, because when I rang DVSA earlier the first person I spoke to said you can’t do 2 reduced weekly rest periods in a row, can’t say what the second said apart from saying that they are in a mess now and confusing, and a DVSA officer on that documentary on the A1 stated to about a Spanish driver doing 2 reduced rest periods in a row as if he had done something wrong.
So how confusing are tacho rules when DVSA can bearly understand them!
And for someone to take the ■■■■ on a post they havent or can’t add any thing constructive just makes them look like a ■■■■!

Quote from the government website on drivers hours (see link above…)
" Alternatively, a driver can take a reduced weekly rest period of a minimum of 24 consecutive hours. If a reduction is taken, it must be compensated for by an equivalent period of rest taken in one block before the end of the third week following the week in question. The compensating rest must be attached to a period of rest of at least 9 hours – in effect either a weekly or a daily rest period. For example, where a driver reduces a weekly rest period to 33 hours in week 1, they must compensate for this by attaching a 12-hour period of rest to another rest period of at least 9 hours before the end of week 4. This compensation cannot be taken in several smaller periods. (See example below.) "

Yes the rest period at the end of next week needs to be at-least 45 hours.
Without knowing exactly what rest periods you have at the weekends it’s hard to say if you need to pay back any compensation but it looks unlikely.
If the time from when you start work on Monday to when you finish on Saturday is no more than 144 hours the day off on Wednesday can be used as compensation so there will almost certainly be no compensation to pay back.
If the time from when you started work on Monday to when you finish on Saturday is more than 144 hours it still seems unlikely that you’ll have any compensation to pay back, but without knowing the exact rest periods I wouldn’t want to commit myself to a definite answer.
Either way, in the unlikely event that you do have any compensation to pay back it doesn’t have to be paid back until the end of the third week following the week in which the reduced weekly rest period was taken, so if you wanted to have just 45 hours rest at the end of next week you could.

It really is not rocket since.
This is about taking 2 reduced rest periods in a row as in 45 24 24 45, not 1 as in 45 24 45 what your referring to.

Ok, at risk of copy pasting the complete page ( you could look it up yourself, the link is further up…), but this is also from the above link…
In any two consecutive ‘fixed’ weeks a driver must take at least: 2 regular weekly rests or one regular weekly rest and one reduced weekly rest Note: Other weekly rests of any type may be taken in any 2 consecutive ‘fixed weeks’ in addition to this minimum requirement. The following tables are examples of how a driver’s duties might be organised in compliance with the rules on weekly rest, which allow two reduced weekly rest periods to be taken consecutively. This complies with the rules because at least one regular and one reduced weekly rest period have been taken in two consecutive ‘fixed’ weeks.
You need a ‘fixed week’ as a reference, to place your weekly rests, so that you know wether they fall in week one, two, or three. Use a diary to work it out. If you have two reduced rests within say the Monday-Sunday period, yes, you can have two reduced in a week. If you have a reduced on say Saturday, you can’t have another one in the second week.
A ‘week’ (fixed week) for the regulations is Sunday midnight to Sunday midnight
Each week must have a weekly rest IN it
By IN they mean at least 1 minute IN it
A weekly rest can only be used once
A weekly rest can be at the start, middle or end of a week
A weekly rest is any period of 24 or more hours off in a row (if less than 45 hours it is known as a reduced weekly rest)
Every other week must have a weekly rest of at least 45 hours (known as a regular weekly rest)
A week may have a choice of weekly rests for a driver to choose from to count as the weekly rest for that week
A weekly rest not chosen as a weekly rest for any week is still a weekly rest but does not need compensating for and does not come into the regular/reduced weekly rest working out
It used to be the case where I worked that if you had two reduced weekly rests in a row - you were limited to a 34 hour week in week three, and you had until the END of week three to drop back any “over-hours” to the reference period average to boot.
“Days Off” - still counted against you, unless you have some “non stat leave” left to take.
The first 20 days - counted 8 hours against each day taken.
Excess days taken - counted zero hours against.
If you don’t have any “excess” to take, then come week three where you needed to go down to 34 hours - you ended up getting stood down, and your pay docked.
NOT good if you thought you were on a “guaranteed Salary”.
In that, agency is better - because you can take your holidays as stat leave or “excess” whenever it suits YOU, the driver - rather than have the system used as a “management tool” by the firm.
