18 arrested in Hull

hulldailymail.co.uk/Eighteen … story.html

Yup 18 foreigners detained for essentially not having a visa .

Meanwhile several hundred other foreigners allowed off the same ferry without any visas either !!

Its the crazy world of euro politics .

I came back on the ferry next door from a mini cruise to Gent. We were talking about the fact that few illegals attempt to cross from Zeebrugge where as thousands try at Calais.

And now another 9 in Devon

I think the ones that are serious about getting over are trying other port hoping that the driver using the port and security isn’t quite as aware.
The ones in Calais are far to busy watching Shakespeare Plays put on by some loveies who think that is the best way to “help” these people and also looking at wall art by Banksy. It seems every Arty type is traipsing to Calais to show their solidarity with them, I suppose it must give them extra kudos at their dinner parties.

“Yah! I went to the jungle in Calais, oh! the poverty, oh! the desperation”
“Oh you’re so brave Tarquin” what a journey all the way out of London to France by car :open_mouth: "
“Well it was nothing really compared to what these people have endured, so I felt I had to do something, so we put on King Lear for them”.
“Oh! you’re so thoughtful”
“Oh Yah! and we’re thinking of going back and putting on a drama workshop”

What about the comment that said if 18 can get on in a lorry could they get on and blow it up

I do think this is a good thing to do, if I thought that if I came to UK and had to sit though Shakespeare I would go back to my own country

Oh you heathen :open_mouth:

How can you not be moved by darling Kenny’s Band of Brothers Speech in Henry V.

I’m speechless, who would have imagined that we had Lord Muckles the Thespian… :sunglasses:  in our midst…

Shakespeare is, of course, well appreciated abroad as well. In fact I believe the Nazis would have appropriated him as a Germanic author had they won and I know there was a body of opinion in Israel that he was Jewish, in that he had a supposed understanding of Jews (Merchant of Venice) at a time when they weren’t officially allowed in the country.

The comment made by someone that if they had been terrorists they could have blown the ship up while on the Humber causing widespread devastation … bloody good idea that is !
But when you look around the area I think that’s already been done …

double post, can see this laptop soon going out of the window !!

Well the winter nights are long and dark in the depths of Norfolk and it keeps the sheep calm.
