Most of the surviving Ford Escorts in the UK are the ones built in Saarlouis, West Germany.
The British ones are mostly gone.
My Focus is an excellent car, for what it is. It was built in Saarlois, too. My status-obsessed neighbour was going on about his ‘German’ BMW. I had to point out my car was German, and his was South African!
