Don’t worry about taking time out. I had over 5 weeks between my first fail and my re-test and got on fine. I didn’t even get to practice the reverse but got it in one!
You usually get an hour before the test but check with your trainer to make sure.

I had the option of as much time before my test as I was able to pay for.
Usually an hour is long enough before your retest unless you have a major weakness.

I had so long between the driving due to lack of funds, if I had a choice I would of liked to of done the odd couple of hours here and there at least.

Seems like a very unusual training set-up
Different vehicle daily
Different instructor daily
Truck that wont engage gears correctly (even for an instructor)
Different truck for test
Trainee driving post-test
Website that doesn’t work
Seems things have changed at Enterprise - when i did my training it was unheard of to have a different instructor everyday or truck - would ask some questions if doing again or insist on same truck/instructor all the time. Company did once have a great rep.
Test re-booked today! I’ve got it on April 10th which seems miles away!
Like i said before, i hope i don’t forget anything major before then! I keep telling myself i only failed on speed so all i have to do is keep the speed up on the roads. simple. But then again i could do a different test route and hit a kerb. I’m confident i won’t. I drove perfect last time, no minors for mirrors or anything to do with my general handling of the truck, just that ■■■■ speed!
I’m pretty sure as soon as i sit back in that truck it will all flood back.
Anyway, i’m not afraid to fail. I’m just going to keep on re-testing until i pass no matter how much it costs. Money is time, and i have all the time in the world!

I failed my first C+E and was confidant it was down to nerves and that I could breeze through it on the right day. Which I eventually did with 4 minors.
But on that test I nearly failed on the uncoupling. I was so confidant that I didn’t really think much about the test until it came, which was 6 weeks after the first one.
When I went to drop the trailer I tried to pull the pin out. Nothing. Tried about 10 times. Wouldn’t budge. Now I’m panicking. The examiner asked if it had a dog clip. “WTFs a dog clip” I thought to myself. Luckily, before it got really out of hand I remember it had a cable you had to pull at the same time as pulling the pin.
Something as easy as that could’ve cost me another test. Like you said, keep going over everything in your mind until the day comes.
I’m flipping everything over in my mind. I’ve got at least 1 hour and a half practice before my test so i reckon that is plenty of time to get back into the swing of things! Wish me luck!
Got 13 minors! but i got 11 on my car test so i guess i’m just carrying on tradition!
He gave me a bit of a telling off about my mirror checks when turning and moving off. I was checking WHILE setting off and not before. He was a motorbike examiner as well and my instructor told me he is mega strict on mirror checks because of that. Still, a pass is a pass and i’ve done the hard part now
Thanks to everyone on here for the encouragement and advice, it helped a lot!
