I’ve been fitting some parloks today ,the ones on the other lorries are 2000mm round the circumference which are single and twin ,today I have some twin parloks which are 2100mm twin ones ideal size as in 9 o’clock to 3 o’clock on a clock face even gap to the tyre, but the singles for the rear lift are 1900 mm ,so it could look a pigs ear ,the only others avalible iam told are 2175 mm which would work nicely if the excess went to the back end with the mudflap ,anyone else had this issue with parloks not being exactly the same size ?
I have butchered them in the past with a big pair of tin snips and then sikaflexed and riveted them back together to the required size. If the edge you’ve cut is neat and goes flush over the top of the smaller piece cut off and you use black rivets that are uniformly spaced it will look factory - you will also then only need to make one cut.
If you need to cut any other way a slitting disc in a small angle grinder is the neatest method any sort of saw is no good as the material is not rigid enough.
Tin snips ,butchery ,mastic ,ooh I had you down as better than this OAD !!
