That first film, the one about Atlas express, was delightful in it’s innocence. At one point the commentary said ‘Lorry drivers are among the most considerate drivers on the road’ - and so we were but the same could hardly be said today. I even remember the Ministry using those clip-on brake testers. A tribute to British engineering!

Did you never go up to Aberdeen in the 80’s/90’s Ian… blue boiler suit, brown belt, rigger boots, if it was winter a knitted tammy…
I saw 4 Rig Blast Dafs overnight parked at the police station at Calabria… and guess how the drivers were dressed…and they’d been out on the town dressed like that as well…
