You're winding my leg sir

I did just see mention of a drivers hours group on there, and someone discussing being fined by vosa if you didn’t show 15 minutes other work at the start of your shift for daily checks

your work is not done there yet

I got stopped today and remembered this bit of bullcrap, I asked the wheel tapper “is it true you can get fined for not winding your legs right up” his reply “(laugh) you aint the first person to ask that, it aint true, if the legs are dragging along the road and sparking more than London at 00:01 on new years day then you will have a problem”

Bloody DHL i work for them but am not employed by them and they are a nightmare with all there ways to do things ,cant wait to get out of there.

That’s not the DHL I’m employed by and know. Easy going where I am with very few, if any, hoops to jump through. Best job I’ve ever had.

Must be a really hard job to lay on the bunk for 4 and a bit hours each night and to think you get paid for it too

Not me they didn’t. We don’t have that sort of nonsense at our place, our boss pretty much knows what he’s doing and if in doubt about tacho rules or things that smack of driver’s myth he asks me. :stuck_out_tongue:

ferries claim quite a few fuel tank straps and the tanks themselves sometimes, most of the magnums now only sport two of the three straps originaly fitted to our fleet, we have one driver who loses the landing legs and one the tank straps, but of course the ferry or their staff were to blame although it is our drivers who control the the height key pad for the suspension

Did he then proceed to fine you £45.67 for every curtain clip tail you had flapping about?

Not surprised to hear they’re Renault’s, I’ve seen (and had to navigate) several Premiums with tanks lower than the mudflaps! On tippers there were several weighbridges and drive-over tips that you had to be very careful with, or reverse up to.
Anyway, in line with the rest of the thread, I believe it’s £76.12 for a buckled tank strap

…and thanks for that, Neil! I must be due for another DCPC segment

That would be for having the Bass set too high, Volume offences are in increments of £40 :unamused:

Thought it was an extra £25 for having it on an odd number?

I always lift the suspension when getting on the top deck. Although you need to be sure to do it on ramp rather than before it as you wouldn’t want to rip the rear underun bar off! Seen that happen too, was a tail lift one too to complicate matters

When I first got my licence back in 1878, my 1st job on the 1st day, I had to pick up a trailer and I was winding the legs up for about half an hour, nobody had told me the things had 2 gears

1878 ? what was it you drove ■■ a horse n cart artic

would have been a wagon and drag

I got a message passed on from the boss today, via a mechanic, to get torches for all the trucks as another Race team was stopped by VOSA and fined £5000 for not having a torch.

I do feel a bit bad for laughing at the mechy as he was only passing a message on. :frowning:

so i showed this to a one of the global directors for the whole of dhl world wide… and after he had a good laugh he said that if you dont have humor in your life then you a boring effer haha… then asked me how gullible the guy was…

I know, I already looked with the same idea as you in mind. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

from what I’ve seen of Linkedin, it’s mainly advertising ! or have I missed the point again ?

It can be useful in a stalkers arsenal.

Sorry, I mean it can be a useful tool for those who are boundary challenged.

Another useful tool in the arsenal is the RHA Members directory, although it hasn’t helped in your case as you moved several years ago

It was about the only thing I found the RHA useful for; Stalking!

It’s close but his shift is a longer than mine so he gets more hours for sleeping than I do, working time in the shift is probably about the same. I see him in the yard most nights, he’s often tipping about the time we are leaving then he parks up in the corner of the yard. I think he gets about 6 hours there for sleep and other purposes. :stuck_out_tongue:

He did ask me a digi tacho question the other night so he is careful about keeping legal. :stuck_out_tongue:
