What’s every bodies views on rdc?
Which one?
They are all different
Most of them are zb holes, that’s my view…

Almost right… they’re all ■■■■ holes!!! Some a bit less of a ■■■■ hole than others.
I was in tesco avonmouth today which is one of the good ones tipped in less than a hour, the waiting area is huge so if you fancy a kip you can sprawl out on the seats and snore away!
But then this evening I had the displeasure of going to tesco snodland and because they had no room in the warehouse I was in there for nigh on over 3 hours, with no chance of catching a crafty 40 winks cos the place is truly a ■■■■ hole.
But you can use the canteen there without a card.

+1, as far as I’m concerned anything tesco is zb…

I’ve sort of worked that out from previous posts on the subject.

Good, what do you think about tesco distribution?
Not a lot…chilled, frozen can be ok but the ambient side of things ■■■■ that!!

Ok, do they treat you well wherever/whichever tesco site you go to?
I actually jacked in trucking a few years ago and the reason at the top of my list was RDCs. I don’t come to work to be tret like an idiot and forced to camp out in some ■■■■■■■■■ I’m a trained IT expert nowadays but after a couple of redundancies during the recent financial screw up I came back into the fold. I do general haulage again though. I wouldn’t set foot into an RDC without very good reason

I wish that was the case for me.
Generally ‘Nightmares’ with a few Mild Nightmares.
Most Tesco’s that I’ve had the Displeasure of visiting will Drain the Life out of you.
Northampton Morrisons is not too bad co’s you can stay in the cab.
Sainsbury’s & NFT are a Bum Ache as well, back in the 90’s, I used to do Sunday’s for my Brother in Law & had to deliver to about 6 RDC’s (mostly Sainsbury’s, a few pallets to each) from one side of London to the other. I’M STILL AFFECTED BY IT NOW
Don’t even get me started on 'Waist’rose Snelshal, DUMP I reckon I’ve spent Days on end in that Dump, waiting for them to take off 2 pallets sometimes !!!
Only done MK Amazon & its still a bit of a wait at times.
Gotta go now, I could be here all day !
EYE see them through my eyes
it’s called VISION!
hate them with a passion
but very rarely do them now, so not a big job
Most, if not all talk to you like ■■■■, just turn the tables and they won’t like it, it’s they who won’t have a clue that the jokes on THEM
I always thought it wasn’t RDCs we hated - but the fact that we have to be parted from our beloved cabs, lest the indoor folk cause a drive-off.
What’s to stop someone taking off the handbrake if you wanna be like that? Most bays are a downhill run off them it seems…
Now someone sensible might think that the “on bay” procedure would include (instead of locking yourself out of your cab) taking the red airline off/putting on trailer brake, hanging keys on hook, but leave the driver free to take an actual break in their cabs - instead of pace both square metres of waiting room floor waiting for that tip that never seems to happen quickly enough… Then when it’s time to leave, you need to take a 45 on the damned service road, or if you’re really unlucky, you’ve already been bellowed at from the homebase TM to "not hang around, and get an infringement instead, 'cos it’s no big deal here guy ok?"…
Let’s face it - we like the RDCs where it doesn’t matter if it takes you 3 hours to get tipped, cos you’ll be fast asleep 20 minutes after going onto the bay.
Asda let you keep your keys and stay in the cab.
Avoid them at all costs, as the majority seem to regard drivers as a lower form of life.

When they say “your just a driver” point out they are “just a receptionist”
Doesn’t seem to go down too well.

Another good one to use is to grumpy old ■■■■■ on security at gatehouses if they’re trying to be funny with you turn around and say, " You have only got a job here because you are cheaper than a padlock"
Sat in bnq rcc cambuslang just now, 5 trucks waitimjg to tip and only 1 forklift tipping, been here since 1pm n been told it could be 2 maybe 3 hours before am tipped
