Remember delivering to an Asian cash and carry…and watching him rip a a double stacked pallet open on the roof.
“You sign here”…he says.
“You ■■■■ off”,I says.
Well Im retired now and have been for a very long time at 83 years old, But I had lots of awkward ■■■■■ just like the ones on here, when delivering my load, I recall one jumped up fork lift driver refusing to take one pallet off because I wasnt booked in, So I said to him where on the del. note does it mention being booked in, He replied it dont give a ■■■■ mate you are not booked in on my list of deliveries, Well that ■■■■■■ me off straight away, So I said well just sign the POD to that effect & Ill be on my way to my next not booked in drop, But may I add now that you have signed the ticket your lot will be charged for this refusal to the ammount of 20£, He said you must be jocking mate, I said I never joke about money I only make it & spend it, He said well in that case I will off load you this time but If you come here again & you are not booked in I wont off load you, I said listen knob head do you think for one momment that would bother me, I wont be comming back anyway you company & their booking in rules can ■■■■ right off, You should try working as an owner driver, Then you would see how the real hard working folk make a living,
, Regards Larry.
Your spot on Larry ,I have the same situations where they threaten to sent the load back ,make my day I say it will save looking for a return load ,I charge up to 75% for a load brought back ,nowt better than the one already on !
A few years ago now but had a full load of double stacked pallets from Tilbury to Glasgow, was unloaded and went to collect the paperwork only to be told that the whole load had been refused and I had to take it back. One pallet had broken band so they were rejecting the lot! This was polystyrene insulation panels from that companies own warehouse to it’s storage depot in Glasgow so they were rejecting their own goods!
I just left …
