Your in-cab technology

My iPhone which I use as a hot spot, my iPad and an android powered HTC HD2 with iGo Truck Nav on it keeps me amused, this week I have watched the complete F1 race on Sunday, and five complete races of the V8 Supercar championship which I downloaded to my iPad and got paid to sit and watch them all, happy days, hopefully squeeze another couple of races in tonight :stuck_out_tongue:

I also have a really smart tv/DVD for the cab but not been on nights out for the past 12 months thankfully.

A man after my own heart. Ive still got the second Gold Coast and Bathurst to watch. First GC600 race was a bit interesting at the start, wasnt it?

Just a little, what do you with expect with a bunch of crazed Aussies tho

Just wish they would go back to the good old days with a mans gearbox instead of those fairy sequentials, they have taken more away from the racing than they added IMHO.

Somewhere on an external I have Bathurst 1975. That was an epic race.

The carnage at the start of the GC600 was all the international drivers though. Indycar peeps mainly, who havn’t done a standing start since their days in Formula Ford!

Tether the iPhone to the iPad, download TVCatchup…job done. And if you have Virgin media at home, download the Virgin TV Anywhere app and watch more. If you dont connect it the the router/Tivo box at home (if you have it) some channels are restricted but you can (AFAIK) watch Sky Sports through the virgin TV anywhere website…I don’t move from the cab when waiting to be loaded/tipped now, more so when it’s blowing a gale like tonight!!

To add: Virgin app has ESPN on it so I’ll be watching the Europa League match :sunglasses:

some of the above plus don’t forget your Trombone

Odered a couple of Kobo Arcs last night (one for me and 1 for the wife), very similar to the Nexus 7 and kindle fire, similar price/specs etc, and buy now pay later :grimacing: plus I can tether it to my phone if I wanted to. Nice little toy for Xmas and it’ll come in handy for when I get driving

Harry Monk:
I’ve got a copy of Razzle and some kitchen towel.

no tour sock?

i’d be interested to know what these new kindle fires are like?
i take the laptop if i’m on nights out, and if i’m away for a fair while i’ll take the xbox aswell.

I have a 17" tv with free view and dvd player. Recently bought a 320gb ps3 to while away the weekends away from home.
And I’ve just got a Samsung galaxy note 2. It has a 5.5" screen which is quite handy for browsing and watching films on.
I’ve also got a satellite dish somewhere at home but found it a bit of a palaver setting it up so I don’t bother now.

10 inch tv (big enough for me an crackin picture) with an powered aerial £20 from maplins, 2 phones, mine has trucker timer on,accident camera in windscreen, tomtom satnav with truck, laptop and 9.7 inch tablet, dab radio.leccy oven and kettle, built in fridge.300 watt inverter. Power lead from anderson lead to operate tv/oven/kettle etc  .and a air duster which is great.

I have a 1st gen ipad 64gb, stuffed with films, TV programmes, video podcasts & magazines. I also scanned in my huge truckers atlas and imported it into the ipad, so I can pinch and zoom and don’t have to carry an oversized atlas, which will end up getting dog-eared and torn. I also have a 3rd gen ipod touch 64gb, full of music, podcasts and auidobooks. This will be replaced next week with the new 5th gen ipod touch 64gb. I also have my Kindle keyboard, stuffed with about 300 books.

I also have a roadhawk to cover my back in case of any accidents and finally I intend to treat myself and buy a Go Pro Hero 3 for Christmas.

anychance of putting the atlas on here for download. would be very good if you can

I was looking at inverters yesterday, how many electrical items can you run from a 300w inverter? I see they have just one socket, is it ok to plug say, a 3 (or more) way socket into it? And does it drain the battery much?

They’d probably be not much use to anybody as I only have two delivery locations and I don’t travel any further north than ■■■■■■■■■■■ and no further south than Newark.

I simply scanned the pages I need from my printer/scanner, saved them as jpegs and imported them into my ipad and use Goodreader to display.

It’s easy to do, if you have a spare 30 mins or so.

It’s also very handy to have a copy of various .pdf files on the ipad, such as Stoneridge tacho operating instructions, BP fuel site lists and even a copy of the tacho regs, which is useful if somebody has a question…just fire up the ipad.

Smart thinking Batman :sunglasses:

Another use for my pad which I hadn’t thought of

Microwave, fridge, 300w inverter, xbox360 (slim), 16 inch led tv, and iPhone 4s used as a hotspot for Xbox live to play online.
