Young Brothers Transport/ Daf 3300s

The bloke who drove the Mack used to have a big bushy beard & a manikin dummy sitting in the passenger seat (Right Side) I purchased a few Magnums off of Jimmys brother next door (Sandy Young) at Kent Trucks on the Thanet Way Kent Their 2 brother were killed on the M2 in the late 60’s early 70’s ? ■■■■ Matthew (Transport)

Didn’t know this was yours John when I took this picture at Smallwood in 2010.

And here it is again at Kelsall 3 years later.

Harry Monk:
In my late 20’s I worked for Jim Young, one of the straightest people you could ever meet.

This was my truck, I loved it to bits. Great big gearlever that you had to bang across…

I remember that Harry when I had a 2800 on Richard Fords, I never liked the Mack though with the set back front axle, just didn’t look right to me.

my brother wastipping in great yarmouth the other week, and where he was was an old (i think) young brothers tilt with a telex number on the side, not seen anything like that in a long time!

do you have any more pics then harry, looks like a beaut

Nice 3300, I only got to drive the 2800 wide cab, and most of the lesser versions.

I always had a soft spot for Dafs of this era - still think the space cab 3600 is a great looking truck

Drove one of those for James Nicholas int - broke my heart when it went bang and was towed to a garage in Malliat.
Probably still there being used as a chicken coop

really smart motor 'arry - was that a full width saddle tank they added, never seen one like that before?

Are they still going? Are they still next to the Lychgate filling station on the Thanet Way?
Did you work for them when they were at Dargate in Speedfreights old yard? Do you remember those big Mack bulldog mascots outside the office?

So many questions…

I remember Young Brothers when they were on the old A2 at Faversham running Mack’s on M/E,always looked smart.

Heres one of Youngs Macks.

Obviously not a Young Bros Mack im affraid. I seem to have gremlins in my PC. Will try again later. Nice Trancon though.
